Great stuff, keep them coming please.
Why is there a line of Delta 727s at Frankfurt, did these take over from the Panam 727s after they went bust ?

Wish I appreciated them more when we had them, never saw a Trident sadly.

To be quite honest we all got really sick of BEA Tridents and BAC 1-11s, on one particular trip to Heathrow we counted 18 consecutive arrivals by them - I was Edinburgh based at the time so it was all a bit boring really. It was much like the boredom of endless BA (and ex. Midland) A319/320/321 arrivals are now I suppose !

Thanks guys
I wish i had more trident/vc10/1-11 etc shots, but unfortunately my dad was usually holding the camera in the 80's and didn't like me "wasting" film!!!!!
Mike, i believe you are right that Delta took over the PanAm Eurpoean routes after they went bust, and used 727s and A310s if i remeber correctly.
Couple more from my Flickr site.....

Brilliant stuff, particularly the ringway shots. I spent most of my saturdays there in my youth during the 80's.

I thought United took over all the Pan Am flights into LHR around 1990 and used 727s on the european feeders. I cant remember where Delta used them though but fairly sure they did at some point, maybe it was just in Germany.
that's a fantastic collection of memories that you've posted there, could look at them again and again and probable come up with lots of stories as well, thanks for taking time to post them
One thing that always strikes me with old photos is how much the backgrounds have changed, far less built up and almost a rural feel to many places - and far easier for photo opportunities in those days with plenty of low fences rather than the high security stuff of today

Some lovely additions there - takes me back to my yoof! The Arrow Air DC-8 is tasty, and the BMA 707 looks very smart in that scheme.

Another great set, that Air Canada scheme is one of my all-time favourites - especially their DC-9s and Vanguards.

The Air Canada scheme is beautiful but thta's not the one worn by the Vanguards.
That livery stripe didn't go all the way to the tail and there were black titles and black windscreen surrounds on the livery worn by the Vangaurds. They also had grey undersurfaces which is no where near as smart as the natural metal. This was due to Vickers pre treating the metal before assembly with a sort of zinc chromate.
