de Havilland Beaver

Post by peewit » Wed May 30, 2012 8:46 pm

A few years ago I enjoyed a ride as a passenger on one of these old floatplanes with it's big multi cylinder rotary engine burning 25 gallons of fuel per hour.
They sound rather like a Harley Davidson of the sky as they pass overhead in Port Jackson.

Rose Bay is where they fly from and sunny Oz weather helps make it even more pleasurable

Next time your are in Sydney why not be one of the passengers. It is a great experience. Would love to have another flight but pockets not deep enough.

Hi Phil,

cracking shots of, what in my humble opinion's, one of the greatest aircraft ever built.

They do however sound way better than a HD!

Float plane flight, followed by a Pie Floater, now that's the way to spend a day.

Regards

Reggie

Hi Guys,
the only way to beat a Beaver's, with a wet Beaver (they're much better on floats)!
