As you might see from the scans i am a great fan of the DC-8 :D .

I started spotting in 1972 and like many of you have seen a lot of change over the years-Watching DC-8s----BOEING 707s--TU-104s-VERY EARLY 747s-TWA--SEABOARD WORLD/TMA--FLYING TIGER and the great VC-10 of BOAC,GHANA AIRWAYS,EAST AFRICAN--I can go on and on.............................

Have just been looking at some of the stuff in the background - British Eagle Britannias, a Cambrian Viscount, an Iberia Caravelle and a BEA Comet 4B and an Ambassador (probably BKS) in #3.

Wonderful stuff. :D :thumb:

Hi to you all
I have just found this slide in my collection so i scanned it and here it is---

On the November 6th 1963 Trans Canada airlines DC-8-54F CF-TJM over run the runway at london heathrow at high speed and come to rest in a cabbage field 800 yards past the end of the runway .The aircraft was repaired by a Douglas team at LHR but later crashed crew training on the 19th may 1967 at ottawa

yes, you're right, thanks for pointing it out and I've corrected the original text (I'd also put the runway heading with the Trident in the background as 28R and it should have been 10R.

welcome to the forum by the way

That Alitalia DC8 brings back memories - my father was PR for them and had all the press photos, big glossy 10x8 b&w. Wish I had them now.

For Heathrow fans which may have missed my posts there's a bunch of stuff, 5 vols, which I posted a while back. Here's the link to Vol 1:
