They sometimes arrived wearing sunglasses, even though it was quite dull..... :halo: :halo:

At least twice they arrived from INV with the pogo stick still in place - these were the days!

They should have had white sticks to go with their sunglasses, that's why they didn't spot that the pogo sticks were still attached during their pre-flight walkaround! :lol:

I remember once that (although the pogo stick "faired" whilst in flight - it flew backwards in the airsream) when he/they arrived, there was obvious damage to the rear hole where the pogo stick was inserted after landing.

Nothing structural, but it looked a lot worse than it actually was....I have a picture but probably best not publicised!

He/they flew back to INV with the much bigger hole...(but the pogo stick properly stowed).

Sheesh....

I believe both Barney Barron and Ted Rawcliffe were both Lightning F1 pilots at Leuchars.

Ted ejected twice, the second one on finals into Leuchars quarry....
