these were taken on a visit to RSPB Rye Meads near Harlow, Essex.

They were active most of the time I was there as they had young close to fledging so food was in demand.

and finally rising vertically out of the water, it took several attempts to get one rising out like this at the right moment AND in focus, they are so quick!....
