Snow scenes from Essex

A severe lack of trains but not due to snow! Some photos of the former station at Rayne (my home village) taken yesterday when I went out for a 5 mile walk in the afternoon. The former railway line is now a country park stretching from Braintree to Bishops Stortford (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bishop%27s ... ranch_Line" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ) and the station building is occupied by the park warden and is also open as a very popular café every day (there was nobody sitting outside yesterday though!)

After walking across some fields I arrived at Great Notley park where the hill (artifical) was very popular with sledgers




The ducks on the lake didn’t seem very impressed though…….
