October 2018

I will no longer be reporting from oxford airport due to continued mindless hassle from the airport external security even though I'm on public property & not doing anything untoward.

Andy :(

Sorry to hear that Andy. I always looked forward to your lists of 'what's about' at Kidlington. :thumb:
I still remember the days when you could drive in and sometimes get one of the staff to take you around the hangars.
It seems that the whole nation has gone security paranoid - just look at the problems at Stansted. :ninja:
Good luck for the future and thanks for all the reports.

Andy,

Also sad to hear of your decision. I only visit occasionally, but almost always have been able to tie up aircraft where I have only been able to see half the registration, so thank you for all your efforts over the years.

I too remember the good old days when you could walk around - I particularly remember one day with eight (IIRC) PA-38 for OATS being removed from shipping containers, and being able to get close enough to identify them from the c/n plates!

May I ask where you have experienced the hassle, so that others of us are forewarned please?

Kind regards and happy spotting

Roger
