Morning.

I bought this along with the 727 i recently finished a few years ago, the 727 was untouched and went together very nicely so i thought id have a stab at the 737, which i completely forgotten had been sold as "used, part started"..... looking back i really wish id taken a photo of it in that state!!!!

It turned out that the fuselage halves had been roughly glued together and painted with what may have been emulsion!!!!

I spent several days trying to removing the paint, sanding and filling the large holes and scratches that were lurking underneath and repairing the missing part of the tail, i was eventually happy enough to give it a go. It was nowhere near perfect, but probably as close as i was ever going to get, and its a miracle it didnt just end up in the bin really!!

I decided to build it as EI-BEC "St Fiacre" of Aer Lingus, circa 1987. It was airbrushed using Mr Color Acrylics and finished using 26Decals EI 737 set. I had a bit of trouble with the decals, but i think that was probaly down to the uneven surface in places!!!

Like i say, its a long way from perfect, but im pleased i persevered with it, and it looks enough like the old Aer Lingus 732s i used to watch from the Queens Building at Heathrow in the 80s!

Sounds like a nightmare to put together but you've managed to do a rather good job in getting it finished, Jon. :thumb:

All the hard work has paid off Jon, well done.
The story of the build is very interesting as well , thanks for taking the time to tell us how it was done.
