This is the SPOTM (Special Photo Of The Month) competition for January 2021 and the subject is ANY civilian registered aircraft photographed in 2020 which has not won or been 2nd or 3rd in either photo comp.

The subject of your entry should be a photo of one or more civil registered aircraft taken in 2020, it may be a photo previously entered in one of our photo competitions as long as it was not placed 1st, 2nd or 3rd (including jointly) in either competition and thus is not in the 'Hall of Fame'. It may be active, retired, preserved or even abandoned.

Photography Competition Rules :-

1. Only one entry per user, unless posting on behalf of another person who is unable to do so themselves (children for example). If this is the case, please state so on your entry..

2. The photo may have been taken on any date, it does not have to be taken in the month of the competition

3. The image can be photo-shopped to some extent, levels changes, cropping, sharpening etc. are all acceptable. The photograph must retain it’s initial subject though, don’t make it something it’s not. HDR images are not acceptable. If you are unsure, please PM a moderator.

4. The competition will remain open until 23.59 (UK time) on the 7th February 2021 - please note new extended closing date to enable anyone with a last minute entry some breathing space.

5. Voting will be conducted by a poll open to all the membership shortly after the closure of the competition.

6. 'Rule 6...' There's no rule 6 Bruce'

7. The decision of the moderating team is final.

8. All images must be posted in line with the usual CA posting rules (size etc.), please read them if you're not sure how to post.

9. The rules may be subject to change, and these will be posted on this thread.

10. Please also embed the images and not links to images, if you're not sure how to do it then shout up and someone will sort it out. It is permissible to change your entry before the closing date.

11. Do not comment on other member's photos.

12. A brief description of where and when the image was taken would be nice too.

If you have any questions please PM me
Andy

No decision required for this month's competition entry, as I only visited an airport once in 2020, and this was the reason for going.

Here’s my entry, final shot of the day from my last LHR trip of 2020, a Birman Bangladesh 787 landing with the rain clouds parting to give it some rather nice lighting!

As the competition is for aircraft rather than airliners, I'll try one of the few civilian aircraft I managed to photograph, in 2020, while shielding.

One from my garden caught on finals to RAF Lakenheath on 2nd November 2020 - Boeing 767 N225AX of Omni Air International. I know, I should have saved it for the March 767 comp but I have other 767 shots but very few 2020 ones!

Tomorrow is the final day before entries close in this competition - if you haven't entered yet have you got a civil aircraft photographed in 2020?
