With another decade having rushed by we thought, as there is no photo of this month we should have a photo of the decade 2010-2019

The competition will be open until 7th January 2021

Photography Competition Rules :-

1. Only one entry per user, unless posting on behalf of another person who is unable to do so themselves (children for example). If this is the case, please state so on your entry..

2. The photo must have been taken between 1st Jan 2010 and 31st Dec 2019

3. The image can be photo-shopped to some extent, levels changes, cropping, sharpening etc. are all acceptable. The photograph must retain it’s initial subject though, don’t make it something it’s not. HDR images are not acceptable. If you are unsure, please PM a moderator.

4. The competition will remain open until 23.59 (UK time) on the 7th January 2021- please note new extended closing date to enable anyone with a last minute entry some breathing space.

5. Voting will be conducted by a poll open to all the membership shortly after the closure of the competition.

6. 'Rule 6...' There's no rule 6 Bruce'

7. The decision of the moderating team is final.

8. All images must be posted in line with the usual CA posting rules (size etc.), please read them if you're not sure how to post.

9. The rules may be subject to change, and these will be posted on this thread.

10. Please also embed the images and not links to images, if you're not sure how to do it then shout up and someone will sort it out. It is permissible to change your entry before the closing date.

11. Do not comment on other member's photos.

12. A brief description of where and when the image was taken would be nice too.

13. Don't forget it's just for fun.

A rare visitor to Manchester on 26 Sept 2019. Malaysian Airlines A380 9M-MNF (the 100th Airbus A380), departing for Palma Majorca, on a passenger repatriation flight following the collapse of Thomas Cook, which left 600,000 passengers stranded abroad, and became this country’s biggest ever peacetime repatriation. The collapse of the company marked the end of a brand name that had been in continuous use since 1841.

So this is my entry, I had a trip to Schiphol to get more Fokker 70 flights and chase frequent flyer status with KL/AF from my then local airport - Durham Tees Valley.
I flew out on the Thursday and back on the Saturday morning staying in the excellent CitizenM hotel (or it was then - I haven't been back since). For the end of March I was treated to some excellent weather. Spending a whole day at the famous "Quebec" taxiway I was lucky enough to catch a few heavies going past as well as the commuter aircraft to the then fokker farm. This one however stands out for me - Etihad Cargo Boeing 747-400
