This is the SPOTM (Special Photo Of The Month) competition for December 2019 and the subject is ‘Winter Wonderland'.

The subject of your entry should be a photo of one or more civil registered aircraft (including any preserved ex military with a civilian registration) which includes snow or/and ice in the photo.

Photography Competition Rules :-

1. Only one entry per user, unless posting on behalf of another person who is unable to do so themselves (children for example). If this is the case, please state so on your entry..

2. The photo may have been taken on any date, it does not have to be taken in the month of the competition

3. The image can be photo-shopped to some extent, levels changes, cropping, sharpening etc. are all acceptable. The photograph must retain it’s initial subject though, don’t make it something it’s not. HDR images are not acceptable. If you are unsure, please PM a moderator.

4. The competition will remain open until 23.59 (UK time) on the 7th January 2020 - please note new extended closing date to enable anyone with a last minute entry some breathing space.

5. Voting will be conducted by a poll open to all the membership shortly after the closure of the competition.

6. 'Rule 6...' There's no rule 6 Bruce'

7. The decision of the moderating team is final.

8. All images must be posted in line with the usual CA posting rules (size etc.), please read them if you're not sure how to post.

9. The rules may be subject to change, and these will be posted on this thread.

10. Please also embed the images and not links to images, if you're not sure how to do it then shout up and someone will sort it out. It is permissible to change your entry before the closing date.

11. Do not comment on other member's photos.

12. A brief description of where and when the image was taken would be nice too.

If you have any questions please PM me

Good luck everyone.
Andrew
This here's a wattle, the emblem of our land. You can stick it in a bottle, you can hold it in your hand.

I'll kick off this month's competition with this one.

Here's my seasonal contribution, a Ryanair B737-800 landing at an extremely cold and snow covered Bristol-Lulsgate back in 2013.

If it's not too soon, Merry Christmas to all at CA.

I'll go with one from Luton too. G-EZBV on 11th February 2012. I seem to remember the temperature being -8°C on this morning. People all over Facebook were moaning about the cold and staying in and I put on my snowboarding gear and went to photograph aeroplanes!

Not much in the way of snow/ice but there is a little. Interesting subject however Grumman HU-16B Albatross G-BMDX photographed at Plymouth/Roborough on the 6th February 1986.

D-ACNV Canadair CL-600-2D24 Regional Jet CRJ-900LR Eurowings/Lufthansa Regional Dusseldorf 9 December 2012. As I trudged in about -5 temperature from the CRJ that had just pulled onto the next stand to the waiting bus to take us to the terminal on a bleak late afternoon. Still makes me shiver.

The bright and sunny livery on this easyJet A319 about to be delivered to Allegiant was quite a contrast to the mist and snow one morning at Stansted in March 2018:
