This is the SPOTM (Special Photo Of The Month) competition for November 2018 and the subject is ‘taken from inside an aircraft'

The subject of your entry should be a photo of one or more civil registered aircraft including any preserved ex military with a civilian registration and the photo must be taken from the inside so for example it could be an interior, in a cockpit, a view looking out at another parked aircraft, a view of another aircraft from the air (even a air to air) and so on.

Photography Competition Rules :-

1. Only one entry per user, unless posting on behalf of another person who is unable to do so themselves (children for example). If this is the case, please state so on your entry..

2. The photo may have been taken on any date, it does not have to be taken in the month of the competition

3. The image can be photo-shopped to some extent, levels changes, cropping, sharpening etc. are all acceptable. The photograph must retain it’s initial subject though, don’t make it something it’s not. HDR images are not acceptable. If you are unsure, please PM a moderator.

4. The competition will remain open until 23.59 (UK time) on the 7th December 2018 - please note new extended closing date to enable anyone with a last minute entry some breathing space.

5. Voting will be conducted by a poll open to all the membership shortly after the closure of the competition.

6. 'Rule 6...' There's no rule 6 Bruce'

7. The decision of the moderating team is final.

8. All images must be posted in line with the usual CA posting rules (size etc.), please read them if you're not sure how to post.

9. The rules may be subject to change, and these will be posted on this thread.

10. Please also embed the images and not links to images, if you're not sure how to do it then shout up and someone will sort it out. It is permissible to change your entry before the closing date.

11. Do not comment on other member's photos.

12. A brief description of where and when the image was taken would be nice too.

If you have any questions please PM me

Good luck everyone.
Andrew

OK, I'll kick this off with - NO not a Wessex! - but a shot of a Cathay Pacific B707 heading to the terminal after landing over the roof tops into Kai Tak (1976). Photo taken from the left hand seat of, yes a Wessex

I-DAVA McDonnell Douglas MD-82 Itali Airlines Milan Malpensa 21 September 2007. I was 500ft up in an Embraer window seat climbing out on departure from Runway 35L at Malpensa. The aircraft is on remote stand 302 immediately adjacent to the runway off taxiway N.

FedEx B.777 N882FD passing just below and behind my Ryanair flight back to Stansted (over southern Germany) on 15-05-2017, only had a few seconds to catch it, it's hard to turn round in a Ryanair seat in a hurry!

Oh, and I couldn't read the reg so I looked at a playback on FR24 the next day :)

My effort is another one from Kai Tak. Scanned from an old print here is a view of the apron early on the morning on 17 November 1991. Shot taken from Cathay Pacific Boeing 747 VR-HOR having just arrived from Gatwick. JAL, Alitalia, Cathay and Dragonair 747's and TriStars on the ground at the time (PS If anyone does know what the regs of the JAL and Alitalia 747's are I would be grateful... ;) )

Being an Arrow, it has retractable landing gear and a constant speed prop. The gear lever and "three greens" can be seen to the left of the throttle quadrant, and the lever with the blue knob is the prop control lever.
