SPOTM July 2018 - veteran & vintage
This is the SPOTM (Special Photo Of The Month) competition for July 2018 and the subject is ‘veteran & vintage - for the competition assume first flown before the start of w.w.2'
The subject of your entry should be a photo of one or more civil registered veteran / vintage aircraft of which the type (not necessarily the individual aircraft) first flew before the start of w.w.2 (I've worded it this way as checking first flights of individual aircraft would take too long). Also to save me (and you) having to check up I will accept type replicas as long as the original qualifies by first flight date.
Photography Competition Rules :-
1. Only one entry per user, unless posting on behalf of another person who is unable to do so themselves (children for example). If this is the case, please state so on your entry..
2. The photo may have been taken on any date, it does not have to be taken in the month of the competition
3. The image can be photo-shopped to some extent, levels changes, cropping, sharpening etc. are all acceptable. The photograph must retain it’s initial subject though, don’t make it something it’s not. HDR images are not acceptable. If you are unsure, please PM a moderator.
4. The competition will remain open until 23.59 (UK time) on the 2nd August 2018 - please note new extended closing date to enable anyone with a last minute entry some breathing space.
5. Voting will be conducted by a poll open to all the membership shortly after the closure of the competition.
6. 'Rule 6...' There's no rule 6 Bruce'
7. The decision of the moderating team is final.
8. All images must be posted in line with the usual CA posting rules (size etc.), please read them if you're not sure how to post.
9. The rules may be subject to change, and these will be posted on this thread.
10. Please also embed the images and not links to images, if you're not sure how to do it then shout up and someone will sort it out. It is permissible to change your entry before the closing date.
11. Do not comment on other member's photos.
12. A brief description of where and when the image was taken would be nice too.
If you have any questions please PM me
Good luck everyone.
Andrew

My Effort This Month
One of only four 6B Sedans still intact. Built in 1931, and carried executives of a pipeline company for the next decade. Fought fires in Montana for 31 years, from 1941-1972, hauling smoke jumpers and supplies.

Apparently the oldest airworthy aircraft in the world - Bleriot XI G-AANG operated by The Shuttleworth Trust out for a short hop at Old Warden on the 7th October 2012.

Back after almost a year away from this forum, so I will try with this Tiger Moth.
Piloted by Sqn Ldr David Cyster, at Scone in June 2010, he flew this aircraft, solo, over 9,300 n.m. (17,200km), to Australia, in February 1978,

Taken at the Prague Technical Museum in 2003.
It is an Etrich Taube Limusina
Two for the price of one... a Pou-du-Ciel in the background.

I'll go with this one i've dug out from way back, scanned from a print (hence the poor quality).
G-AELO D H Hornet Moth (built in 1936), seen here at Blackpool Air Show in 1979. The port wing is folded back (the wings folded to aid storage, apparently).
