Re: British Airways sending A.318 to RIAT

I saw that news yesterday, and I'm happy about it. Always nice to see airliners at airshows.

Great shots of days gone by Paul. Virtually none of those types left in service now, which makes me feel old!

Here's my entry. Not something you see everyday, a Chinese PA-42-720 Cheyenne IIIA, taken at Nanchang Changbei on 02/12/14: https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7474/15886616997_a5cb0dbd4e_o.jpg Piper PA-42-720 Cheyenne IIIA by nickchalloner , on Flickr Originally posted in this thread: http://www.civilia...

Re: A few from Brussels & museum 2013

Looks like the Brussels museum hasn't changed much in the 20 years since I went there (like Andy, I love the Caravelle on a stick). There's some great airliner shots in that selection, including a few interesting operator/type combinations we don't see in the UK.

Re: 24-1-15 From Garden Spotting Location West Lancs

Hi PorkScratching, I use an astronomical telescope teamed up with my Pentax K-5, Nikon D7000 & D5100 SLR Camera Bodies. The shots here are between 1/320 and 1/500 sec @ ISO200. Believe it or not , there is not as much cropping as you might think. Operating at this magnification , getting the aircra...

What settings and kit are you using Mike, if you don't mind me asking? I presume there's some cropping involved? They're excellent shots and I'd like to get some tips.

Re: Transavia's new livery....

Big letters on an all white fuselage? Boring. They should go back to the 1970s/80s livery, preferably on a Caravelle :D

Great shot though.

Re: Heathrow Arrivals 24-01-2014

For 27L arrivals use the grass area between the end of Myrtle Avenue and the A30, or park in Cains Lane and have a wander around there. You're closer to the centreline so have more options and less haze. The Bedfont FC ground is the place to be for 09R departures, where you can get great shots of he...

Re: A few Belfast oldies more added

Air Atlantis, there's a blast from the past. I remember all these from my youth at BHX, thanks for posting. Actually I didn't see a Tarom Il-18 at BHX, I had to venture down to LGW for those.

Very good indeed. Nice and sharp and making good use of the sun. Love the LH MD-11F, but then I have a penchant for freighters :)

Very nice. Top marks to the Iraqis for choosing an interesting livery - almost as good as that on the Il-76s we used to get at LHR!

Brilliant shots - artistic, great camera-work and quality processing. The Virgin A320 departure shot is probably my favourite.

Wow, what a collection. Some of those Yak-40s and Yak-42s are fantastic, and the Il-18 shot is just perfect.

Thanks for the info on the ladders chaps. Looks like I'll be ok with my 3-step model for now then.
