Re: Great Dorset Steam Fair 2017

superb selection and agree that the convoy photos are impressive.

I love the engine with the crane on the front, especially with it's appropriately named owner!

thanks for posting them, i've not been to anything like that for many years so you've whetted my appetite

Silkway IL.76 Stansted 26-08-2017

The Silway IL.76 finally got here just after 10am after several delays. Up with the owls to check FR24 this morning and the light improved a lot in time for it's arrival where I met wiggy (Denis) so I was able to put another face to a name (nice to meet you Denis) anyway here are some pics of a supe...

Re: August 2017 photo of the month competition

Here's mine, or my change of entry, decided to go with this rather energetic shot of Mark Jefferies taking off (yes honestly) at Little Gransden yesterday in stead of my original. If you've never seen his take off try to get to one of his shows - it's absolutely amazing (I've added a you tube video ...

Re: SPOTM July 2017, Aircraft named after 4 legged animals

Here's mine for now, haven't really had time to search much so may find something else before the deadline. A Beagle Pup, G-AXNS taking off at Old Warden on 7th July this year leaving a dust cloud in it's wake! https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4155/34559146825_77bce2947c_o.jpg G-AXNS Beagle Pup Old Wa...

as you say Bob, a sad day. Maybe they will re-build it with a bigger better one and get more aircraft to service / paint.

fingers crossed for the company and the employees

Royal Navy review 1977 (queen's silver jubilee)

I've been scanning more of my late fathers slides over the last week or three and found these he took of the Royal Navy ships gathered for the Queen's royal review of the royal navy in June 1977, all part of the celebrations. A bit appropriate to be posting these today as her namesake the new aircra...

Stansted 15-08-2017, 2nd Turkmenistan IL.76

the second Turkmenistan IL.76 of the current series of flights arrived at Stansted this morning and this time I wasn't double booked. unfortunately the sun was also double booked and went elsewhere just before it arrived. Universal Aviation, Stansted - a note for northside spotters

To all persons visiting Stansted northside, this afternoon I had a conversation with a spokesman from Universal Aviation regarding the historic as well as the most recent incursions onto their land. The first point he made is that they have no problem with plane spotters who behave properly, obey th...

Rayne Hall Farm fly in 12-08-2017

here are a few pics from the annual fly in at Rayne Hall Farm, Essex - my very local strip (1/2 mile from home), all in aid of the Essex Air Ambulance. Better weather than last year resulted in about a dozen visitors. A good hog roast as usual and I donated a canvas of one of my Old Warden pics whic...
