Re: Airliners in the 80/90s(Updated 21.07.14)
Nice to see the BWIA Tri Star - flew on it a couple of times Heathrow to Antigua. On these flights first class was effectively a couple of rows of wider seats at the front, not separated from the rest of us plebs in cattle class, and they got a free glass of bubbly. We even used the same convenience...

Just a few more for you, including a couple of 'Condor moments' . Those of you of 'a certain age' (and I suspect there are many on this forum) will remember that.. :) https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3907/14403518290_4bb15bdf22_c.jpg DSCF4609DABOE by Stephen Procter , on Flickr https://farm3.staticfli...

I'm passing through GLA next Monday and Tuesday for a short time so I'm looking forward to seeing if there is anything of interest about.

Re: A little bit of Lanzarote
Thanks for the comments guys. Some of my photos are a bit of a stretch taken from the balcony of Room 410 at the Costa Sal Suites using the Fuji bridge camera at its maximum zoom (30x/700mm!) They do suffer on various levels (sun/focusing/shutter lag/heat haze etc etc) but a few turned out OK. (eg t...

A little bit of Lanzarote
Just returned from a very enjoyable two weeks on the island. Just a taster by way of a few snaps, all registered on the Iberian penninsula.... https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3859/14676080221_e9a5dfbb76_c.jpg DSCF5313ECJSK by Stephen Procter , on Flickr https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5237/14679266005...

Re: The first time someone broke the sound barrier
Well Mike, if the Americans hadn't done it in 1947 we would have probably done it here in the UK pretty soon thereafter. There is a proven correllation between great leaps in technology and war but it is worth considering this. It has been speculated that with the quality of German scientists and eng...

Another (again slightly later photo) from Cancun International Airport on 20 August 1999. Photo taken whilst making our way out to our aircraft home, Airtours International Airbus A330-243, G-MDBD. In the foreground are two Allegro Boeing 727's. N728FV, nearest camera and XA-SXO beyond. (Scanned fro...

New Jet 2 aircraft
Jet2's 'newest' addition to the fleet arrived at Leeds/Bradford this morning. G-GDFW, Boeing 737-8K5(WL) was inbound from Hannover as flight EXS095D when photographed over my house. Aircraft is ex-Tuifly D-AHFM. https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7086/13166759943_4d752c2f29_c.jpg G-GDFW by Stephen Proct...

Hong Kong Kai Tak 1991
A quick snap from the window of Cathay Pacific Boeing 747-467, VR-HOR of the apron at Kai Tak on the morning of 17 November 1991, having just arrived as flight CX220 from Gatwick. Various Boeing 747's about (Cathay, Alitalia and JAL) and Tristars of Cathay and at far right an unidentified airline (m...

Re: A taste of the Caribbean
Yes has always been heaving on the times we have been travelled from there. I recall in 1990 having to check in almost outside and 'security' opening all cases and rummaging around. (My used socks and underwear must have made their day :D ). It did seem better last time I was there (2004), but not a...

Re: A taste of the Caribbean
I had security gesticulate at me back in 2001 just for trying to take a photo of the terminal cat curled up asleep on one of the seats in the departure lounge.......! Never seen anything like it - the cat asleep amongst the passengers and on the floor behind the security desk was a bowl of food and ...
