the agony aunt column
Dear Dierdre, I am feeling rather embarrassed this morning. Until yesterday I believed mine was a reasonable size and possibly even above the average but after seeing other men’s at Lakenheath, I’ve decided mine is quite small and I am worried about it because I went home feeling inadequate. Even th...

TheMightyOz wrote:Thanks Andy. It's nice when there's some good scenery as a backdrop to an aircraft. It's actually Blow's Downs which is sort of a continuation of Dunstable Downs.
I got it half right then (with the word Downs )

Re: Birds of prey photography workshop, 4-7-2015
I did my workshop via goingdigital http://www.goingdigital.co.uk/ and it was their south Midlands branch that ran it. I was taking pics at up to 1/4000th to try to get them really sharp, I was surprised what he told us about the speed required, even a sitting bird tends to be moving and twitching co...

Re: Heathrow Catch-up - Part 1
fabulous set, G-ZBJG is my favourite but only because that was the one I flew on last year to Toronto. Actually I think the very first one (RBA) is nicest, excellent light and slightly lower angle - what time was that? (earlier than I would have got there for, I'm sure  ) Thanks for posting t...

It's a nice photo Jon but not sure that I particularly like the scheme.
There seem to be lots of schemes that are mainly white these days and then they need something really special to finish them off. No real 'wow!' factor with this one for me.
thanks for posting it

Birds of prey photography workshop, 4-7-2015
I went on a photography workshop (courtesy of a voucher from the children for my birthday) to the English School of Falconry near Old Warden (it used to be AT Old Warden but has moved. The day was spent photographing birds of prey both static and flying and I picked up a few useful tips which might ...

Duxford Flying legends, Friday 10-7-2015
I've put it here because although the show is actually on Saturday & Sunday, the Friday sees a lot of the arrivals and also practice displays. It was rather hot so I only stayed until 1.30 to avoid getting burnt. I missed a few bits and pieces but at least I'm not sore today. Here are the pics, I th...

I'm surprised nobody has picked up something a bit odd about one of the photos though - who can be the first to see what it is?

EDIT - that West Atlantic 737 in your flickR album from the same outing is excellent, really liked that one, the light was just right for me on that one - well done.

Re: SPOTM July 2015, Microlights (flexwing types)
I'll go with this for now, from my very local strip in Rayne, taken in June this year - I flew in/on this later in the day (my first ever microlight flight). (they have their annual fly-in and hog roast later this month so might manage something more interesting then) EDIT - I've changed it to anoth...
