Gatwick airlines in the Seventies

Responding to the nostalgia of the early days, some pictures of the commonly seen airlines in the seventies at Gatwick. My first camera was some form of Instamatic. I then progressed to a SLR. A Praktica, with a separate handheld lightmeter, purchased at Dixons. These pictures, not best quality, aim...

Re: Gatwick - on the grass !

Thank you all. Here are two more that I was thinking of posting. Rubbish pictures by todays standards, but special memories. Both puzzled me on the days. The first is a MS760 Paris biz-jet, Italian I-FINR, a rare civil. Second is a Potez 840 F-BMCY. I believe only four were built. This later crashed...

Gatwick - on the grass ! added

When I first started at Gatwick in 1971, the viewing area was on top the southernmost pier. Oh for a decent camera then. The single terminal (now referred to as Southern) was still being fully developed. If you exited to the north, you came to the GA area. There was a large patch of grass there, and...

Beech 99

Ever since my early days at Gatwick, I was always fond of the Beech 99. Probably because a rarely seen commuter aircraft this side of the pond. French operators prevalent. Scans, some good, some not so, but hopefully of interest. Anyone else got any ? Pete. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/517470...

A great christmas log. You are always pudding on a good show.
Some of your pictures are crackers.
The Dubai must have been the icing on the cake for you.
Great biz jet picture, worth a citation.
Shame you never saw Brussels AL !

Seriously, great pictures. Thank you.
