I'm not sure on your budget, but (I know it'll seem like a false economy but read on) I'd suggest you go for second hand stuff to start with, and on this score I'd recommend Canon myself, never had a problem with their second hand bits and bobs, then if you find you like it (and subsidise the purcha...

Re: watermarking photos - do you or don't you?
I would do if knew how! I know it's military, but I had my pictures of the Queens diamond jubilee rehearsal over RAF Mona (Which was to be performed at RIAT that year) lifted and put into a certain publication. (Not too bothered as it was for charity) How can I be certain it was my pictures? because...

Re: Short Sandringham - Tower Bridge
Thanks for putting me out of my misery! I was having a 'discussion' regarding seeing a "Sunderland" flying at one of my many airshows over the years, to be informed there were none flyng then, now if I was doing a passing visit to Biggin or somewhere like that at that time period it would have been ...

Re: which air displays /fly-ins / events will you attend in
Hopefully (As long as I can get my carer (Wife) to take an interest) I'll be at Rhyl and Southport, it all depends on my good lady wifes shift patterns for those weekends.
I'd love to get to RIAT for a day but the journey is too prohibitive.

Re: Driving in France
Not condoning speeding in any way, as I know for a fact I was as guilty as anybody of it! My tale of French driving was returning with the family after having taken them to Euro Disney, we left in plenty of time to get to Calais for the ferry, just as we were getting onto the routier system my littl...
