Re: Aurigny Air Services - Airline of the Channel Islands

Nice time line there
Often gets mispronounced. I'm a Guernsey man and the older of us and many Alderney locals I knew pronounce it Or-in-nee.

Thanks for that
I thought the green of the Wessex made it an Admirals Barge. I used to see the green stripe Heron quite often, ex Royal Flight.

Re: A couple from far Cathay
The thinner tails is the aircraft turned slightly more away. Both have the 707 type fin tip LE aeriel.
Doesn't look like Convair engines
I'd put money on them both being 707's

Thank you very much
Such an elegant beast and never given the recognition it deserved.
Transatlantic with a 707 or DC 8 freighter load at 40% of the cost

Re: London Gatwick 747 Classics
G-BMGS was from 1986-1990 long before BCAL was taken over, it was gone, on sale to Virgin as G-VOYG. It was the only 747 bought used by BA.

Re: CL-44 at Cambridge 1986
The owners of the Guppy at Bournemouth reckons it will fly out this year.
No one can see this happening, but the man says it will.
AFAIK there are no other CL-44's in existence although they may be some chunks.
This one above was one of the lengthened CL-44J's
