Re: Compton Abbas 19th March - Sun & Planes (Pic Heavy)

Thanks for all your positive responses. It's amazing what a bit of nice spring sunshine and do to enhance photographs. I have to agree that the Beech 18 is a pure classic beast, when I get a chance I'll see if I can find out a bit more about its conversion. It looks like several of the visitors were...

Compton Abbas 19th March - Sun & Planes (Pic Heavy)

A very enjoyable couple of hours up on the hill top airfield at Compton Abbas on Saturday afternoon. The star of the afternoon for me was the Beechcraft Super 18, unfortunately I had to leave before it did so missed the sight and sound of the P&W twin taking off. Lots of close-up shots at low-ish sh...

Farnborough 17-02

The weather was rubbish until late in the afternoon when there was some decent light for photography. In fact it was so grey early on I've decided to try some B&W conversions. http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c15/NBrant/20110217-094102-Farnborough.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c15/NBrant/20...

Bristol-Lulsgate 02/01/11

The weather didn't turn out to be half as good as the forecast would have you believe so the following images have taken some post capture editing. However, despite the lack of sun it was a better than average day at Lulsgate Bottom with a better variety of airlines than the usual Easyjet and Ryanai...

Re: Jet Ranger INFO

Stan,

Jet Ranger III N206HE is Dorset based (Chickerell) so is probably the example you saw at Compton Abbas. Hope this helps.

Re: Req. old cessna reg please

Steve

I believe this could be the aircraft you are referring to

http://www.abpic.co.uk/search.php?q=N50029&u=reg

Also worth a look but a little out of date now

I hope that this helps.

Re: Bristol-Lulsgate runway 09

Hi 'old git', Parking has always been very good at Lulsgate. Up until a number of years ago the perimeter fence consisted of a low post and rail fence. Part of the agreement for Continental to start flying-in (which is about to cease) was that they erected a high grade security fence including rolls...

And a UK reg'd Twotter that I haven't seen! Any idea's what route it covers and schedule? Their winter timetable can be found here............. http://www.ios-travel.co.uk/timetable_skybus.asp#brs Occasionally they'll use one of their Islanders in place of the Twotter. Thanks for the positive comme...

Always pleasing to photograph at BRI, but even more so when using runway 09. http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c15/NBrant/20100901-102558-Bristol-Lulsgate-2.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c15/NBrant/20100901-104807-Bristol-Lulsgate.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c15/NBrant/20100901-103...

Popham - Europa Fly-in 12 June

A pleasant afternoon down at Popham today. A reasonable turnout of Europas and some other interesting aircraft. Also nice to see some new residents. The light for photography was most tricky at first but improved as the afternoon progressed. http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c15/NBrant/20100612-1311...

Bristol-Lulsgate 25/5

Just a few shots from Lulsgate today. Nothing too special but with an easterly wind and runway 09 landings, was worth a stop over. http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c15/NBrant/20100525-122634-Bristol-Lulsgate.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c15/NBrant/20100525-104258-Bristol-Lulsgate.jpg BMi R...

Only a few shots from Farnborough as the heat haze made photography pointless of most aircraft turning off short. http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c15/NBrant/20100518-122515-Farnborough.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c15/NBrant/20100518-125525-Farnborough.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/album...

Re: Blackbushe 18 May

How did you get inside,staff/aircrew or just asking nicely ? All the shots were taken from the car park side of the fence. It's quite commercial at BB these days so I doubt if airside access is readily available for non crew. Long gone are the days of wandering over the common and the north side of...

Compton Abbas New Year's Day Fly-In

An excellent start to the aviation year with a great turn out of aircraft and enthusiasts at Compton Abbas on New Year's Day. The easterly wind meant aircraft were using 08 so a large group of us photog gathered on the Clubhouse patio in sub-zero temperatures with drinks freezing over, Brrrr. In all...
