Re: Stansted departures 16-02-2018
It's a bit of a pain that Lightroom is subscription only now part of Photoshop CC. That said both Photoshop and Lightroom have a dehaze slider, Lightroom in the develope module. It works quite unlike any other tool and actually cuts through arial haze. The effect is not possible to replicate with an...

Re: Stansted 14/10/17
I was over the other side on the mound this Saturday morning. Wife and son came back from CAG in the afternoon so took the opportunity of a bit of spotting and photography. Better light on the south side but will post some of my shots from the other side in a few days. One of the Ryanair crews was c...

Lovely shots and concur with the previous comment on the Continental. Is it just me, but when you start seeing the retro schemes the older liveries just had something about them.

Truly sad loss. Knew Monarch's charter department 40 years ago. Back in the day it was 1-11's and Boeing 720's. Rich history and a real shame. Feel for those who have lost their jobs. Thanks for posting.

British Aerobatics Fenland 9th - 11th June 2017
A round of the British Aerobatic Championships was held a Fenland on the 9th to the 11th of June. Some nice sunshine but marred by strong 20 knot winds. With runway 18 in use late afternoon backlit sun also can be an issue. Hope the images are of some interest. Full selection of images can be viewed...

Re: Stansted 13-02-2017, first test with new lens
Post process is very subjective and ultimately down to personal taste. I have used Lightroom for around 3 years and recently moved onto the Lightroom CC version which includes the de-haze option. I have found Lightroom has an edge over the Canon software and is getting even better as time goes on.

Re: Stansted 13-02-2017, first test with new lens
The sports version from what I understand is virtually identical in image quality just built to take a few more knocks. It's the difference in price between both models and the Canon 100-400 mark 2 that is so notable. They are certainly giving the reach and image quality at much more affordable pric...

Re: Stansted 13-02-2017, first test with new lens
Very nice. Sigma and Tamron have really become contenders these days especially with the price difference to the new Canon lenses. Sigma you could even go the whole hog for the Sports version and still save hundreds over nearest Canon. At the end of the day it's in the quality and there is nothing w...
