Just noticed that the BA seems to have lost its original 'Dove' engine cowl.

Re: Evening sunshine at Leeds/Bradford - 10 June 2015
It's a nice spot Andy, both for landings and aircraft taxing out and lining up for departure. The 'viewing area' is directly in front of the cemetery with room to park a few cars, a couple of benches (and litter bin!) and a path running around the outside of the cemetery wall to look out to the nort...

Evening sunshine at Leeds/Bradford - 10 June 2015
An odd spare hour last Wednesday evening saw me at the end of runway 14 (cemetery end) at Leeds/Bradford. Not a lot of activity but it was very pleasant and I took a few shots in the late evening and setting sun: https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/430/18689757841_968a9104b1_c.jpg G-ECOF by Stephen Procte...

Re: A couple of gems - 21 May 2015
Watch out for it in the new Man from UNCLE film. Apparently it was dismantled, wrapped in bubble wrap and transported to Rome to be reconstructed and flown for filming in Italy. Back safe now of course....

A couple of gems - 21 May 2015
A day out with a few members of the Air Yorkshire group saw us visit the airfields at Netherthorpe and Sherburn in Elmet. Whilst looking around the hangars at Sherburn we came across a couple of beauties. G-AKBO - 1947 built Miles M.38 Messenger 2A https://c4.staticflickr.com/8/7796/18013652912_a934...

Re: A day at Heathrow 1984
No Geoff, you are quite correct in how uncluttered it was then. They obviously didn't then feel the need to fill every space available. You can actually see some rolling hills in the far background of some shots. Steve NB - I won't post any more on here but have uploaded a few more to my Flickr page...

Re: Punta Cana log 1st of October-15october
Being at a loose end this lunchtime I had a tinker with FR24.
G-TUID arrived from MAN at around 2100z on 15/10.
Arriving just after then was
F-GSQN Air France
HB-JHQ Edelweiss
EI-DRA Aeromexico
plus some other bits that you might have noted.

Re: Punta Cana log 1st of October-15october
You could try doing a playback on Flightradar 24 for a period either side of your departure time and date. Possibly catch your 'missing' a/c arriving or leaving.

Re: Leeds Bradford over the years
Ahh, they take me back. I go back even further than that at LBA though having seen my first aircraft there in 1967! It was a Bristol Freighter. Sadly I didn't take many photos during my early 70's spotting period there.

A day at Heathrow 1984
My first trip from Leeds down to Heathrow with a decent camera on 16 July 1984. A few snaps from the day scanned from slides. https://farm9.staticflickr.com/8339/8162511429_bf4a86891a_c.jpg 5B-DAL by Stephen Procter , on Flickr https://farm9.staticflickr.com/8207/8162512071_b32e0a396a_c.jpg 5A-DIF b...

Lovely stuff Jon. I actually saw the Allegro 727 at Cancun the previous year.
As for Mr Branson - having just seen him and his partner in first class on the flight going on holiday for half term I asked him where the kids were 'Oh, we put them back there in economy....'
