London Heathrow 16 March 2023

A selection from Heathrow making use of the daylight before the latest Northolt Nightshoot. It was notable just how many A320neo and A321neo are in service now. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/52821690158_1cef0ebf71_o.jpg Emirates SkyCargo 777-F1H by Nick Challoner , on Flickr https://live.stati...

What a selection of colourful a/c. The variety of airlines at Heathrow is stunning.

Re: Heathrow departures 16-04-2023

There are some great angles there Andy, enhanced by the fact the landing gear is fully retracted, making the a/c look sleeker than in most shots us enthusiasts can get.

Shame the Air Canada was in Star Alliance livery rather than Air Canada's own. Still, nice to see.

Re: More old photographs from Birmingham International (BHX) in the 80s

That was the first Il-76 that I had seen close-up, and what a fantastic view it was.

It seems almost fanciful now to say that the only Il-76s I had seen previously were Iraqi Airways examples at Heathrow!

Re: MPB.com - can't recommend them enough!

MPB are good, but it is worth shopping around. I sold an EOS 60D last year and Park Cameras offered me £30 more than MPB, with a similar level of good service (quick courier collection, inspection and payment).

Lovely shot, enhanced by Nauru Airlines' pretty livery.

777-2Q8ER VP-BAS landing 09L at Heathrow in 2004, in the rather attractive but short-lived Aeroflot livery from that period:

Some great memories there Craig, with some wonderful aircraft (well, perhaps not including the Short 360!). The ATA L-1011s looked fantastic in that colour scheme.

I agree with Paul, the shots of sunlit aircraft set against dark clouds really work well.

Some wonderful shots there, not least the Worldways DC-8. BHX had some excellent photography spots in the 1980s.
