Manchester 27 October
Despite the weather, I took the chance and went out to runway 5 Right yesterday. It was a crisp morning with patchy frost which remained on the ground until about quarter to ten. The cloud came in from the north fairly early on and the day seemed to get even colder. The light was not brilliant to be...

20 October at Manchester
After missing a couple of weekends at my local I managed to get out early yesterday. I based myself near the end of runway 23L, southside, The light varied quite a bit with some moments of brilliant sunshine and then getting quite dark at other times. Not sure who has taken over, but nice to see Air...

Andy, that 727 N231FL got my interest as it looks airworthy but I see it was deregistered in 2017. What a shame. Thanks for posting.

Andy, your photos are a lot better that anything I've ever achieved from inside a terminal or aircraft. That runway shot at the end makes me wonder just how cold the airport surrounds must get in winter.

Very nice set there, Mike. A good assortment of aircraft, all well captured. I particularly like the 20 Year scheme on the EasyJet and the pair of Avanti's. Thanks for posting

Andy, looks like you had a great time and your post is brilliant. How many photos did you take on the trip and were there any restrictions on aircraft photography?

Re: Manchester Sat 22 September
Thanks, Euan. Martin, I think of the ASL 737 as a little ray of sunshine, that brightens up the day - even when it's dark and miserable.

Re: Manchester Sat 29 September 2018 - First Light
Martin, thanks. We have had some beautiful sunny days this summer/early autumn. I am so pleased I went out last Saturday because this Saturday we look as though we are in for heavy rain. At least it will give me time to thin out my last couple of months worth of photographs and clear up some space o...

Manchester Sat 22 September
Having already posted yesterday's images, I am going back a week to the 22nd. It was a dry day but well and truly clouded over. I went out early in the day which did not help on the available light situation. However, as usual I had an enjoyable couple of hours and came away with these that I hope y...

Manchester Sat 29 September 2018 - First Light
I ventured out early on Saturday and arrived near the bottom of 23L as the sun broke the horizon. I had set the ISO at auto and my first shot of the day was at 1250 and the last were between 125 and 100. There was a 2/3rds moon and I was lucky enough to get a couple of images with it in shot. I have...

Manchester Airport Sat 15 September
Here are a few clips from my visit to Manchester Airport early on Saturday morning. I think I got some of the best light of the day and was off home by 09:00. I hope you enjoy.

Re: Manchester on the 9th
Thanks Euan and James. I am really enjoying my trips out to Manchester Airport and find that even poor light gives opportunity. The Saudia was a bit further away than I intended to shoot but the sun spot-lighted it so well that I couldn't resist.
