Re: red squirrels & snow bunting, mersea island

There may well be as there is/was a long-term project for a breeding program to attempt to release some among the greys. The intention I believe was to study the effects of shared habitat and also the virus that the greys carry and kills off the reds. Time will tell I guess but I'm not holding my br...

Re: red squirrels & snow bunting, mersea island

Beautiful set Andy of some lovely species, many of which I have either not seen or yet to photograph. That red squirrel in mid air and the widgeon "gear up" are fabulous. Living on the edge of Thetford Forest I only get grey squirrels running along the fence and in the trees just outside.

Very nice Andy - the Antonov looks a bit of a cross between a 146 and Do328JET!

Sounds like RJ85 P4-GIU - just one example from a web search:

Re: DH89 Dominie 4R-AAI Strathallan 1975

I love a DH classic - beautiful aircraft and nicely captured in b+w.

It is - or at least was - at Wroughton when I took this rather poor slide back in 1987:

Re: Big Jet TV - good or bad?

I can deal with his general lack of everything that he lacks by simply ignoring his output. BUT - and I mean a big but - that image during a pandemic with social distancing being one of the key aspects to observe borders criminality. In addition his classification of key worker is ridiculous and ins...

Re: Innsbruck, Austria

Not wishing to detract from the lovely aircraft but that backdrop in the first shot is stunning. I love the alpine airfields settings like this one. Had planned Switzerland and Austria road tour but that's all on hold now. Hopefully in the next year or two it will happen, fingers crossed.

Neil this is a great post with every one a gem! I would see a Zimbabwe-registered aircraft as a catch anytime. Thanks for posting.

As good if not better than part 1! Some real classic types in this set and great light and colours too.

Lovely set Mick. Rougham is my "lunchtime local" - or was until lockdown. I usually seem to miss their events due to various reasons so good to see what turned out.

Re: G-ROBN livery help

Hi James, FR24 playback shows G-ROBN over Trowbridge roughly NE-SW at approx 14:35 UTC , or 15:35 BST so if this ties in with your sighting then that's your aircraft. Just noticed it flew earlier heading the other way(approx NNE) at 11:05 (12:05 local/BST). Again this may tie in. Hopefully one of th...

Very nice Paul - like the Herc in the case too but we won't mention that - .Is that over on FC by any chance? I'm not a modeller but I do like to see some of the masterpieces that appear.

Re: Lockdown Garden Spots

I know this one has been posted before but apart from distant trails I have seen hardly any civil aircraft over home since lockdown - at least not with a camera to hand. Magpas G-MGPS landed not far away in Brandon, Suffolk this afternoon for an unknown incident and left best part of an hour later h...
