Bristol-Lulsgate - Bank Holiday Monday

A few shots from the Feltham Common approach to Lulsgate on Monday after the cloud and rain had burned off. A spontaneous visit as the cloud cleared and I had some time to spare, deckchair positioned in the shade of the car and very few people about, very relaxing. https://live.staticflickr.com/6553...

Henstridge 20th Anniversary Vintage Wings & Wheels

Henstridge airfield, on the Dorset and Somerset border, held its 20th annual Vintage Wings & Wheels event in glorious sunshine on Saturday. Organised by the 'old' GVFWE team, the event is a Bank Holiday favourite for many local people and enthusiasts with its informal manner and great selection of i...

That's a great set Andy and sometimes a judicious bit of pruning of offending clutter is required.

A great set of pictures Andy. The pick of the bunch for me being 'PLU and 'HOO together on takeoff.

Re: Haircut - How Much Would You Like Off Today Sir?

Wow, that would have had the crew buzzing for a day or two afterwards. A very close thing.

Also interesting is that it was rebuilt and went on to serve with Blackwater on contract with the CIA in various hot and dusty places.

Old Warden Gathering of Moths - 8th August

I travelled up to Old Warden on Thursday for the de Havillan Moth Club 'Gathering of Moths' event. Whilst planned as a two day event, with the Friday being at RAF Henlow, the incoming storm front forced the cancellation of the second day and may have resulted in some planned attendees not making the...

Gathering of Moths - Old Warden 8th August

I'm thinking of making the 300 mile round trip up to Old Warden on Thursday for the 'Gathering of Moths' event. I've not found a great deal of info about it on the web other than a few details via Facebook and the DHMC website. However, weather looks reasonable, but not amazing, in that part of the ...

Wow, what great variety. Everything from an Israeli Diamond to Ruslan.

My pick of the bunch must be the Arkia A321neo.

Niall,

a colourful set of pictures with lovely blue skies, very fitting for the holiday season.

The Prescott CN235 is a sneaky :ninja: beastie I believe.

Thanks for posting

Nice picture,

I've missed seeing it twice already, most recently when it dropped in to the Glastonbury festival last weekend but it routed a little to the west of my location.

That's a cracking set Andy, really liking them all.

Do you still need an 'enthusiasts membership' at the football club to use their playing fields?

Andy,

thanks for posting pictures from an alternative location, heaven knows what would happen in a car park in west London after 8pm!! Looking on Gooogle Maps, maybe Avenue Park is another option for late evening arrivals.

Gatwick - A Grand Day Out

With the resumption of summer weather last week, and as it had been nearly 3 years since my last visit, I decided take a trip up to Gatwick to catch some runway 08 arrivals on Friday. Having decided to get there for a 6am start I had to contend with numerous trunk road and motorway overnight closure...

They're all great shots in super weather. The American B789 and Lauda combined shot is the pick of the bunch for me.
