Love the Thomas Cook 330, looks better than the Hi-Fly one  Thanks James- Yes the south side of runway 2 is probably best spot early morning- the path being above the fence line is a bonus-uninterrup...

Re: SPOTM July 2018 - veteran & vintage

I'll go with this one i've dug out from way back, scanned from a print (hence the poor quality). G-AELO D H Hornet Moth (built in 1936), seen here at Blackpool Air Show in 1979. The port wing is folded back (the wings folded to aid storage, apparently). https://farm1.staticflickr.com/940/43710026551...

Re: Manchester 7 June

Excellent selection in pleasant morning light. Good prop blur on the 6-bladed ATRs. The Shamrock retrojet looks like it's well to the right of the centreline in the touchdown shot, which probably explains the go-around! Cheers for the reply and comments- well spotted re the Shamrock off centreline!...

Manchester 7 June

A 5am start from home and a pleasant stroll along the south side of 05R to get a bit of camera practice in and catch some early morning arrivals (path was bone dry for a change-its usually walking boots or wellies required!). Re: Snowy Manchester 1 March 2018

Well done for braving the cold. Strange the Swiss didn't depart - you would have thought they were used to such conditions! Good to see the four-engined heavies on snow clearing duties, and always a pleasure to see a retrojet. Cheers for that- it certainly was challenging- there were'nt many of us ...
