East Midlands Museum 1982

Hi, On the 3rd April 1982 I was at East Midlands airport. Near to the terminal was the early museum site. I noted the fuselage and wings of what I believe was a Miles Gemini, possibly 9Q-COA. I seem to recall that it was stuffed inside a helicopter, but visible through the open door. Can anyone conf...

Re: Heathrow in the early 1970s - some scanned slides

Great memories of bygone days, and an interesting narrative. Thanks. Here is a picture I took on take off in a BMA DC9 back in June 1983. For those not familiar with LHR, the Roof Gardens are lower right. The black roof building, is Terminal 1 (BAW and domestic). Two multi-story car parks on the lef...

Re: Heathrow - the day the Russians came in force 15-7-1991

Andy, I think we might be askew on the date we were both there. Searched the garage for my original notebook with no success, but came across old magazines. So curtesy of LAAS International some movements for middle of July. There appears to be interesting Russian stuff from 11 July through to 25 Ju...

Re: Southend 1998-99, scanned negatives

Thanks Andy, another batch of interesting pictures. How I wish I took more photos of those Belfasts. Niall is right about the Algerians. I noted 7T-WIV on 17-7-99 and 7T-WIE on 18-8-01. Maybe someone knows of other visits. Almost right on the B737. It will be 9M-CHG cn27456, now registered N999FJ an...

Hi,
you are lucky that I came across some old mags at the right time. Too much to type out. Scanned it onto Flickr.
Credit is due to LAAS International - ANR.

Re: Niagra Falls- Age of Flight Museum...

Hi,
I searched and came across Niagra Aerospace Museum. http://wnyaerospace.org/#_=_
Apparently, it has moved location a few times - Summit Mall Park, Casino and now at Niagra Falls Airport.
It might be worth an email to them.

Re: Stansted 20-5-1992, European Cup Final charters

An interesting set of pictures, good memory of the day for you, even though you are disappointed with some. Thank you. The IL86 appears to be CCCP-86082 of AEROLICHT. It appears to be the only aircraft they had, for about 18 months. I have not been able to find out anything else about them. The DC8 ...

A great British aircraft, over 1000 built. All these pics are from scans. Had to put a few Trislanders in too. On Floats - UK

Hi, we do not see many float equipped aircraft here in the UK. My first sightings were at The London Plane Show, held on The Southbank, back in May 1973. Present were G-BAUL Schweizer Teal, and G-BASO Lake LA-4. In 1980, they mowed the grass at the site of Croydon Aerodrome, and held a show. Float e...

Re: On Floats - Canada, Alaska

Thanks-
over the years, in the UK we have had Lake L-4, Teal Amphibian, Volmer Sportsman, Grumman Goose etc even DH82A Tiger Moth G-AIVW with floats. Maybe folk will share some pics if I start a thread under theme topic or nostalgia.

On Floats - Canada, Alaska

Hi, we do not get to see many float aircraft in the UK. Some places in Canada / Alaska seem to use them as easy as we would use a car. Here is a flavour of what can be seen. (Taken with a Fuji Bridgecamera). Maybe, a theme topic of UK amphibious aircraft could be of interest? Pete C-FJBP Beaver Whis...
