Lovely pictures, sunshine makes such a difference after all the grey low cloud this year.
And what a grand varied collection of British designs.

What do we build now ? :(

Why not drop your Shorts online ?

The Shorts commuter / utility SC7 Skyvan, SD3-30 and SD3-60. Show us your flying ‘sheds’. For those who cannot get enough there is more in an album on FlikR. Re: Aces High Daks

The white buildings in the background, and hills are Shoreham.
I think the date on photo is wrong (1981) and should also be 1980.
G-BHUB was delivered through Duxford in August 1980 and was fairly quickly painted G-AGIV Ruskin Air Service for the TV series.

Weston Helicopter Museum (Early days)

Pictures taken in 1989, at Weston International Helicopter Museum, Somerset. (It opened on present site in 1988). It’s origin goes back to 1958 when Elfan ap Rees started a small collection. A visit today would see a greatly expanded collection, many rare/unusual types. Well worth a visit. Pete. htt...

Re: Dinard 1972

Interesting shots to see. Digging in Air Britain News - it turns out that Rousseau Aviation at Dinard purchased at least 24 DC3 from the French AF. Registered in the F-BTDx, F-WTDx range and some unmarked. Lets see some more. Pete. (I visited Dinard once in November 1995. Loads of F-27 variants. Spe...

Existing Airlines no longer seen in UK

It’s popular on here to see pictures of airlines no longer in existence (Gone bust or merged). My mind turned to those airlines still around, but no longer seen on regular services to the UK (Unprofitable, political or war). For the reg collector, there was that excitement of seeing a rarer reg pref...

Charlwood Gatwick Aviation Museum

A visit to the museum adjacent to Gatwick. Small but friendly with knowledgeable volunteers. Interesting history of the airport, simple little café and gift shop. For the civil enthusiast, history includes airlines such as Dan-Air, Caledonian, Monarch etc. Far end of the field has small seated area ...
