Re: Farnborough 17-7-18

I don't think it's a Flickr problem. I think it's to do with the board software and Internet Explorer. Internet Explorer has a propensity for not conforming to web standards, which means pages sometimes don't work properly in it, whereas in other browsers (Firefox, Chrome etc) they do. Edge is suppo...

Re: Guernsey Airport Jet Nostalgia

Plenty there to take me back to 1980s. Always a pleasure to see 1-11s and Caravelles. Some tasty JT8D powered Boeings too.

Congratulations on the nightingale shots Andy. I've seen one and recorded their song, but have never had a chance to photograph one. The avocet shots are lovely too.

GFD Learjet 35A departing Fairford back in 2004. These perform a similar function to the Cobham Falcon 20s. Interestingly both aircraft types have wings derived from fighter designs, so can easily have underwing hard points fitted. These are of course used for target towing, electronic warfare train...

I'd agree with you Andy - ram's horn yokes and the big moving map display in the centre of the panel being big clues.

Re: Canadian Ramblings 2 Vancouver South

I was enjoying the floatplanes etc, but then I saw the prototype JetStar! I've always loved them, not least for their four engine layout. As seen in your photo though, the prototypes only had two. Interestingly they were British, in the form of the Bristol Orpheus. Shame a deal couldn't be done at t...

Lovely airliner shots. The Duxford Aviation Society (DAS) do a magnificent job keeping their airliners in fantastic condition.

Re: Shutter Priority ISO

Many Canon bodies have a feature called "Safety Shift". When enabled it will adjust settings in some modes (including shutter priority) if the lighting conditions would mean that the camera/lens combination would otherwise not be able to achieve the correct exposure. For example: if you have a fast ...

Re: Aberdeen 1986

Very interesting. I remember visiting in the early 90s and making use of the grass mound and the little viewing area. The tower is looking very bright in your shots so presumably had only just been built. Architecturally it certainly looks very 1980s!

Re: Flickr - my latest followers are rather interesting!

personally i don't post to hardly any groups on flickr as I fear it could totally open the gates to dodgy followers. I don't think that's the case. I've added photos to many groups and I rarely get a dodgy follower request. If anything, I suspect the dodgy followers choose new potential targets by ...

Re: EOS utility won't open since windows 10 update

Andy, try the latest version of EOS Utility (and the other applications while you're at it). Go to http://www.canon.co.uk , click on products > DSLR > support > software, find your model and follow the download links. Alternatively, take control and use a card reader, which is what I prefer. Thanks ...
