Re: SPOTM July 2022 - Your favourite helicopter photo (bonus for a Sikorsky!)
Have to say I'm struggling even with this very open helicopter category. However as I have only a few civil photos a favourite is straightforward and thrown in here just to boost the numbers as the quality is poor. French registered SA321 Super Frelons at Kai Tak on route to PRC in 1976. https://liv...

Ok I'll kick this off with one from the archives, apologies for the quality (as always). THY Boeing 727 at LHR in 1978.

Re: photo competitions - your thoughts and feedback please
I've noticed a decline in entries too. maybe it's because people are not out and about as much and possibly not capturing the subject well that they want, or that is needed for SPOTM. I'm one of those that doesn't have a decent camera, could borrow my daughter's but then again I don't go out much th...

I'll throw this in (changed). Concorde demonstrator landing at Kai Tak, definitely half and half as main gear on runway but nose AND tail in the air

Good mix there. I should be able to enter 4 of them, possibly 5 depending what I can find in the archives.

I'll kick this one off. Fox Moth at Sywell. Yes, I know Sywell now has a hard runway but this was taken back in the day when it was all grass

Wonderful set of photos. I used to go to the PFA events in the 70's. Unfortunately despite living just a few miles away I couldn't get to the rally this year.

I'll throw this one in, could be clearer. Aeroflot IL62 at LHR 1978. (My LOT IL62 is a better shot but has a Luftwaffe Jetstar in the foreground...)

Re: SPOTM June 2021 - Canadian registered aircraft
Unfortunately I have very few Canadian registered and none are really worth putting up here. But to kick things off, one of my favourite shots. CP Air B747-200 C-FCRB Empress of Canada departing Kai Tak in 1976. After starting from the harbour end and roaring over the rooftops of Kowloon she turned ...

Re: SPOTM February 2021, aircraft of the Iberian peninsula past and present
I'll kick this off. Unfortunately I have very little Iberian area in the archives, my Iberia DC10 is too yellow. So I'll go with this hazy shot of a TAP Boeing 707 taken at LHR in the summer of 1977. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/50940283477_caf1555006_z.jpg TAP 707 by Ian Pursey , on Flickr

Re: Northolt Nightshoot XI
Nice shots. When I was based at Northolt they didn't do any of this stuff, in fact I had to get permission to carry a camera at work and get the aircrews permission if I wanted to take a photo of their aircraft. Still, given the people passing through I suppose it was understandable even though ther...
