Luton 18-09-2020

I spent a few hours at Luton last Friday, they were using runway 08 which isn't my favourite for photos but I tried to make the best I could of it. Surprisingly busy really and quite a lot of biz movements which was nice. some of my pics, starting with some airliners.... https://live.staticflickr.co...

here's mine, that classic look! My favourite of the retro schemes G-BYGC in BOAC colours in September last year. nice set and far better light than I had on Wednesday :o .
Was it very busy? It seemed quiet on Wednesday - about 5 minutes between flights but I assume that's somewhere near the norm at present.

thanks for posting them, especially nice to see the 747

The BA B747s... Are these the aircraft that are off to join the Rossiya Airlines fleet. ?
That now seems to have been an unfounded rumour unfortunately. Of those that were quoted (all in the G-BYG* series) three are at Kemble and two are in that line up alongside the road.

Covid casualties - British Airways B.747s at Kemble

Covid has brought about the demise of British Airways' mighty Boeing 747 fleet after 49 years of operations, they were one of the last major operators of the type. These are 5 of 7 currently stored at Kemble awaiting their fate - probably at the hands of the scrapman although BA hope to find new own...

Re: One day at the Lucca Aeroclub

beautiful set Claudio, I haven't been to Lucca for about 15 years and never to the airfield. Lucca is a wonderful town so I must go there again sometime.

Looks nice weather, I hope it holds as i'm finally flying out for a weekend in 3 weeks time, thanks for reminding me of how nice italy is.
