That's a great set Andy with a couple of bonus hares.

That's a classic '70s image that brings back good memories.

Re: SPOTM August 2020 - Douglas commercial aircraft
A sadly missed name in these days of the 2 pony race between Boeing and Airbus. I shall put in the 1947 vintage DC-4 ZS-BMH operated by the Historic Division of South African Airways at IAT in 1998. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48082450777_ebd56f347f_o.jpg South African Airways Douglas DC-4 Z...

Re: Socially distanced airshow - Old Warden 18th July
OK,so what happens if you do not own a car, access denied, even if you have purchased a ticket on line, social discrimination? Sadly during these extraordinary times being discriminated against for not being able to attend an airshow is the least of our worries. Without going in to too much detail I s...

Apparently each A380 will be passing through Heathrow on routine maintenance over the coming weeks and all returning to storage immediately.

Re: SPOTM July 2020 - any Boeing 737 series aircraft including Boeing BBJs
British Midland Airways Boeing 737-4YO G-OBMG arriving on gate at Glasgow-Abbotsinch in Sept '91. 'MG' was my ride back to London (BD011) having visited for the Leuchars BoB Airshow on the Saturday - flight time 58 minutes. I flew in the same aircraft on the same route (BD015) exactly 2 years later ...

Socially distanced airshow - Old Warden 18th July
Like Andy, I attended the first Shuttleworth and UK Airshow of 2020 and also the world's first drive-in socially distanced airshow. Let's hope the need for them is short-lived! The event went far beyond expectations on organisation by the Shuttleworth team and to my delight the behaviour and respect...

I'm sure it would make a great 'man cave'. I have to admit that it's crossed my mind on occasion and whilst I may be able to afford the 737 nose I certainly couldn't afford the divorce!....also the neighbours weren't too happy.....never again!!

Re: Kemble Storage - 02-07-20
i visted yestreday and the 2 red tails in that area i can confirm were B737 EI-FFM and B757 G-LSAH Many thanks, that helps put a location to all residents at the time of my visit except for 4L-TGN, which is assumed to currently be in a hangar. LY-NVY and VT-INV have subsequently arrived and are par...

Concorde 01 G-AXDN
My father-in-law worked for BAC on the Concorde project back in the early '70s. A couple of years back I took him and one of my sons to the amazing Bristol Aerospace museum at what's left of the Filton airfield, Pausing at one large photograph of the Concorde assembly hangar, he commented, "see that...

Gloucester-Staverton - 02-07-20
My trip up to Gloucester included dropping in to Staverton for a look around. The airport has seen massive investment over the years and is a major aviation manufacturing and maintenance hub (Dowty, SAFRAN, RGV Cirrus Centre, Babcock & Specialist Aviation Services to mention a few) both within the c...

For the record a picture of the remaining storage area over by the Chevron hangars. There are two red tails which I believe to be Jet2 B757s in addition to the Corsair and BA 747s. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/50071067106_e87f484a0d_o.jpg Kemble Cotswolds Airport EGBP - Storage by Neil Brant ...

Re: Kemble Storage - 02-07-20
There's no sign of it in any of my pictures and I did wonder if it had been wheeled straight in to an ASI hangar. However, when I checked on the radar App on my phone it still says it hasn't flown since 13th November!!do you happen to know if LY-NVY (A320) was there

Kemble Storage - 02-07-20
My first trip out since March with a work related trip up to Gloucester. On the way home I pulled over at Kemble to have a look at the varied aircraft in storage pending the scrap man's axe. A sorry sight to be sure with 11 B747s, three A340s plus an assortment of B737, B757 and A320 types amongst o...

Re: An airshow at last!!! Old Warden 18-07-2020
I've taken a chance and booked a ticket. If the weather behaves it should be a thoroughly pleasant afternoon and evening.
I'll need to give the camera a good dust off and clean beforehand!!

aeroSPARX Grobs Practising
Last Tuesday evening, in the barmy summer heat, we were treated to an hour-long practise session from the aeroSPARX team. They are based close to Longleat estate at Wing Farm, so a relative common site in the area. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/50037992623_f5c2dc8882_o.jpg Grob G.109Bs G-CINO ...
