Re: LAA Sywell 31-8-2019

Certainly a good variety of types and colour schemes.

The Shaw 180 is a new type to me.

I used to enjoy camping at the PFA Rally back in the day but times change.

Re: Shuttleworth Vintage Airshow

Very nice. It looks like you can get really close to the action. It seemed to me as though the display line is a close or better than you will have seen at other Uk display venues back in the 80's and 90's, plus it's a curved display line. It really is a pleasure to see aircraft properly displayed ...

Re: Cyprus Holiday 25th August to 4th September 2019

That's an interesting log Bob with quite a few Chinese airlines and the inevitable Russians. Larnaca airport certainly seems to have developed from when I was last there in the '80's and early '90s. In those days it was a bolt hole and safe haven for many Middle East airlines that couldn't use Beiru...

Re: British Airways fleet departures 2013 onwards

Thanks to the info from Camb10, we can update the thread with the withdrawal of two further A319s. G-EOUH which was one of the Olympic Dove aircraft, albeit repainted in to Chatham livery at some point. Relocated to St Athan on 5th September. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48695097477_e521b569f...

Shuttleworth Vintage Airshow

I attended my first airshow at Old Warden having been delighted with my visit under a month earlier for the Moth gathering. It was an fabulous day, so relaxed and spoilt with such great flying. The weather did turn changable at show start time which made photogrpahy trickie at times, but just a case...

Any post containing a photo of a Twin Commander will get my vote of appreciation, and a BAA one at that. Let's renationalise the airports!!

Re: Little Gransden 25-08-2019 pic heavy

That looks like a pleasing variety of aircarft types that would give a varied range of display types, just what a family show needs. Personally, I appreciate these lower key events these days as opposed to the 'big hitters' like RIAT, it's just a personal preference having done all IATs and IASs bac...

Bristol-Lulsgate - Bank Holiday Monday

A few shots from the Feltham Common approach to Lulsgate on Monday after the cloud and rain had burned off. A spontaneous visit as the cloud cleared and I had some time to spare, deckchair positioned in the shade of the car and very few people about, very relaxing. https://live.staticflickr.com/6553...

Henstridge 20th Anniversary Vintage Wings & Wheels

Henstridge airfield, on the Dorset and Somerset border, held its 20th annual Vintage Wings & Wheels event in glorious sunshine on Saturday. Organised by the 'old' GVFWE team, the event is a Bank Holiday favourite for many local people and enthusiasts with its informal manner and great selection of i...

That's a great set Andy and sometimes a judicious bit of pruning of offending clutter is required.

Re: Haircut - How Much Would You Like Off Today Sir?

Wow, that would have had the crew buzzing for a day or two afterwards. A very close thing.

Also interesting is that it was rebuilt and went on to serve with Blackwater on contract with the CIA in various hot and dusty places.

Old Warden Gathering of Moths - 8th August

I travelled up to Old Warden on Thursday for the de Havillan Moth Club 'Gathering of Moths' event. Whilst planned as a two day event, with the Friday being at RAF Henlow, the incoming storm front forced the cancellation of the second day and may have resulted in some planned attendees not making the...
