I believe it is operated by the Qatar Emiri Air Force. When I was working in Qatar last year, I asked about the "civil" colour scheme. Apparently it was decreed by the Emir himself. RVL are now based at East Midlands. A new hangar and office complex are under construction at the moment.

Sorry, I've only just noticed this thread.

I use one of these lenses too. I purchased it on the strength of a magazine review which called it "..a superb all-rounder". I have no reason to disagree with the reviewer!

I remember seeing one of BMA's 707s crew-training at EMA, painted in Sudan Airways colours. After a particularly rough landing the tower controller came on the radio: "XXX landed at time 35, 35 plus 10 seconds and 35 plus 20 seconds!"
