Turweston Air-Britain Fly-in 19 June 2021

Some pictures from the Air-Britain Classic Fly-in at Turweston. A big thank you to Phil Kemp and all the AB volunteers who make this happen. Held in line with Covid guidelines, it was a welcome return towards some normality. Weather was not kind, but still a reasonable number of visitors, and chance...

Re: SPOTM May 2021 GROUNDED - a bit of fun!!! (poll)

On my early visits to Heathrow, a trip to the roof of car park 3 would give a view towards the old fuel farm. There in older colours was that wonderful Comet. The Belgian Xingu reminded me of when it was one of five Sabena trainers. Occasional visits to Gatwick were made. That in turn reminds me , t...

Aeromexico Lasham

Was at Lasham on Tuesday 8/6/21.
Saw a B737 in Aeromexico colours.
Can anyone confirm whether this was still marked as G-TUKC, or has taken up marks XA-OOO ?
Thanks
Pete.

Carvair G-AOFW was withdrawn in 1977. Sat as a gate guard in the hangars round the back at Southend. Finally scrapped in 1983.

Nice to see. Well done Mark (and also Andy's thread).
Shuttleworth looks great for close up action.
Nice to see a bit of normality coming back to the scene.

If you go on Google maps and zoom in (Sat view) https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@51.8795135,-0.3624964,204m/data=!3m1!1e3 it is North East side of airport in fire training area. I assume it has been moved closer to fence now. Interesting pictures by the way. Does anyone know why the hulk was falsely m...

Kamloops BC Canada

Another Canadian ramble. Kamloops is a town fairly central in British Columbia. Seems to me to be a bit of a crossroads point for travel. Highway 1 passes through it, and the Rocky Mountaineer tourist train does an overnight stop there. Pictures from various visits going back to 2005. Near the fuel ...

Re: Paramount Airways

Hi Phil, cannot help direct with the B707. You may already have seen in your searching, but, as they started at Bristol, is it worth trying to contact someone on the Bristol Airport Enthusiast website ? They have a brief history of Paramount, but only list the standard fleet. https://eggd.weebly.com...

Re: Malinair

Thanks Mike.
I cannot recall ever seeing them on the Gatwick route.
Memory goes with age !
I checked my records and found I have seen a couple of the Islanders.
The first, was on my only ever visit to Aberdeen. The second was at Fairoaks.
cheers

Hi David,
if you are not sure about the type, could it have been G-EGBP, an Aeronca Champion which is based there ?
