Re: Malinair

Thanks Mike.
I cannot recall ever seeing them on the Gatwick route.
Memory goes with age !
I checked my records and found I have seen a couple of the Islanders.
The first, was on my only ever visit to Aberdeen. The second was at Fairoaks.
cheers
Pete.

More Gatwick oldies

Some more Gatwick oldies, around the late 90’s turn of the century. Hi David,
if you are not sure about the type, could it have been G-EGBP, an Aeronca Champion which is based there ?

Re: Northolt Nightshoot XI

Those are nice.
Several of you guys on here do great nightshots. Well done for the techniques required.
I enjoyed a few daytime shoots at Northolt (and many years previous at Brize Norton).
It's a pity, they or others don't try an occasional daytime event.

Thanks Nick.
I like the middle one, which I don't recall seeing. Blomsterang (Flower Field) only appeared on 7 aircraft.
A good site for info and names is

British Airways Utopia world colours

For a short period 1997 to 1999 British Airways had colours called Utopia / World. The thinking was to show BA as a world airline. Various world artists created designs that represented different cultures. It was Marmite – love it or hate it (famously Margaret Thatcher using a handkerchief to cover ...

Lookout Cafe Covid Testing

I have read in the latest Air Britain mag that the Lookout Cafe / viewing area is operating as a Covid test centre. The Biggin Airport website advertises this as "open to all", yes £85 for a simple swab test. I have not been to Biggin for a while, partly the weather, but then obeying Covid restricti...

I've never been a golfer, but enjoy watching a bit on TV. I liked his easy going style. I remember a program called "A Round with Alliss" where he would join with celebrities.
A fine gentleman.
