Biggin Hill 18 Sep 2019

A couple of hours at Biggin. Apparently, the day before hosted "Aerocharter" which meant a few extra biz. Lovely blue sky, but horrible heat haze on the "bump". (And wish they could do something about the road cones !). Pete. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48760758062_35d6be8619_b.jpg B737 G-SW...

Re: 100th Anniversary 1st Aerial Flight England-Aussie livery Fokker 70

You certainly get some interesting paint jobs through Norwich. I enjoy your regular updates.
This one is a bit drab for me, lacking colour, but probably meant to be sympathetic to the time period.
Still a nice catch.

Re: LAA Sywell 31-8-2019

Thanks everyone. The first rally I went to was Cranfield in 1990. I drove through a gate, stopped and said to somebody "Where do I pay?". They replied "Just go in". Don't know if the early one's were free, but I have paid ever since ! I enjoy the general freedom to wander, see the aircraft up close ...

LAA Sywell 31-8-2019

I went on Saturday, and the event was affected by the weather front crossing the UK. Broken cloud thickened during the morning, and just after 2.00 started raining. Also, there was a fair old wind blowing. So visiting aircraft well down, compared to previous years. A few more restrictions this year ...

Luton 21 Aug 2019

A few hours spent at Luton. Those familiar with Luton know the metal fence near the hotel area. Close packed upright strips less than one inch apart. No good for a SLR camera. These are taken with a Canon Ixus, the lens small enough to get some results, sometimes, with a bit of cropping. Need a bit ...

Very nice.
The background tree's (rather than normal airport buildings) really set it off.
You must have had a good spot for photos.

Always nice to see De Havilland aircraft. Used to enjoy the Woburn events.
I actually like the NC854 best, they are unusual with the twin tail.
Nice shots.

Re: Bristol Balloon Fiesta 2019

I enjoy seeing HAFB - the range of imaginative colour schemes, and the special shapes. I have been to the fiesta three times, enjoyed the balloons, but not how crowded it has become. Fairford RIAT used to have balloon launches - morning to have something to look at while queuing, evening to stop eve...

Re: Gatwick in the 90s

Always like a bit of nostalgia, airlines long gone.
Recognised all but the B737 Air Atlanta lease to Aviareps.
The backgrounds contain interest too, a Saudi B727, Air Ops Tristar, etc.
Thanks Mark,

Makes me realise how much clutter there is in my static pics (not posted), compared to the arrival / departure days.

Re: Concorde in Hong Kong 1976

Interesting memories - always nice to see old photos. Thanks Ian. Re the old Air France livery- F-WTSA went into Heathrow in October 1974. Me and my mate used to phone each other if anything interesting was going into LHR. The conversation went.... " Did you see the Air France Concorde ?" " No, but ...

Re: G-MGPS Leonardo AW169 in Bedford, 13/07/2019

Done a bit of digging.
I wonder if it is actually night vision equipment to enable single pilot operation.
Noticed the same mounting on pictures of G-KSST, the Aw169 of Kent Ambulance.
