Austrian Skyvan @ Sywell 8 July
Interesting visitor today. Certainly beats the usual steady stream of PA-28s https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48232515617_636d67057f_k.jpg Shorts SC-7 Skyvan OE-FDK by Gavin Livsey , on Flickr https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48232441371_6823ff14ae_k.jpg Shorts SC-7 Skyvan OE-FDK by Gavin Livs...

Re: May 2019 GA out and about
Nice set as always Gavin, what sort of damage was caused to the airfield during the fire? I presume a lot of ash was deposited everywhere, any other damage? :) They were very lucky to get away with the airfield being covered with asbestos from the warehouse that burned down. It was right next to th...

May 2019 GA out and about
May was a pretty frustrating month with my local, Sywell, shut for the best part of two weeks whilst the airfield was cleaned up following the fire. So out and about to a few local fields, including the rather disappointing Bulldog anniversary fly in at Turweston. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535...

Thanks chaps, the sunshine helps!
Wallie, the Extra was landing. The runway is right next to the road, so close that a good walk down it is really needed for landing shots.

With Sywell closed following the major fire last Tuesday I found myself heading east on Sunday to visit Conington and Sibson for a couple of hours. Here's a few pics taken, more at https://www.flickr.com/photos/102327393@N05/ https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/47054407984_37f4ea8f18_k.jpg Varga 215...

VAC Spring Fly In - Turweston 28 April 2019
Second outing of the year was to Turweston. Unfortunately with Storm Hannah passing through the day before numbers were low. A sample of what came in is here, with more at https://www.flickr.com/photos/102327393@N05/albums https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/32780586547_bfeba0c7c0_k.jpg Guimbal Cabr...

Re: Sywell Easter selection
3:2 for me (as in 35mm film). Not a major issue though, and your shots are excellent. The SR22 might be better registered as 4-OFUS given its seating, and I'm very pleased the Aztruck looks to be in great condition. Thanks. Still getting used to my new camera. Need to work on shutter priority to ge...

Sywell Easter selection
Off work last week so a few visits to the local, although they seemed to coincide with the quiet periods. Friday afternoon in particular had some nice visitors which I missed and I kept away on Saturday for the Museum opening to avoid the crowds, again missing a few nice oldies. More at https://www....

Nice shots Andy. I saw CEAM & CJAK depart Sywell. Seemed to be that everything was heading for Northrepps or Skegness.

Re: Daffodil Fly In: Fenland 13/4/19
Caravelle, I fully understand the reasons why but the airfield website did, and still does today, have the event billed as such. It wouldn't have been too difficult to amend it. I had sent a message via the website many weeks ago asking what to expect and never had a response. That said, it didn't r...

Daffodil Fly In: Fenland 13/4/19
My first proper visit to Fenland. Billed as an Open Day/Spotters Day but obviously someone changed their mind and it was clear on arrival at the cafe that there would be no access. As they were to use runway 08 I decided to park on the approach. Very slow start but the sun came out and by late morni...

Thanks Caravelle. Hope to visit Fenland for the Daffodil fly-in in a few weeks time.
