Re: Wycombe Air Park 4 January 2019

Good photos in crisp January light; I must get back to Booker sometime soon for a decent GA feed and the mortal remains of those 'Meatboxes'! :( Thanks for posting. :thumb:

Re: A few older slide scans

The United shot is Convair 340 N73102, which made a wheels-up landing in a vegetable field near Saugus (about 35 miles from its destination) while flying from Fresno to Los Angeles on 30th December 1964. Cause of the incident was fuel starvation: a fuel-pump problem in one engine required the crew c...

Re: Sunny Heathrow 11th November.

Ah the location - a hit or a miss with the heavies departing. I’d say it was around 30% to 70%. The latter turning right or a straight out departure but when they did bank, it was rather nice. SO managed to position myself on Coppermill Road. About half way along. It’s a quiet residential road so d...

Lovely set of shots in great light. Where were you positioned for those beautiful take-off/banking shots?

Very nice set of photos - everything looks better in sunny blue skies. Sounds like a good spot on T5 for photos. :thumb:

That's a cracker of a shot - I can almost hear the roar of those piston engines as she climbs away; and nice to see an oldie in such a smart livery. Well done for the photo. :thumb:

I don't think it's a Flickr problem.
Thanks for the info, PorkScratching; much appreciated and an interesting insight.

Re: Farnborough 17-7-18

very nice set throughout but I can't see any cut off noses on my PC screen. the maximum setting on here is 1600px so did you load them at a larger size than that? If you did try clicking the copy button again and it offers a selection of sizes,- try selecting 1600 px or a bit less to see if that cu...

Always good to see one of Bembridge's finest - and I think this one is still going strong as F-HSUR, one of two Islanders operated by PixAir Survey in France.

Thanks for posting the pic.

Re: February up in Aberdeen

Very nice shots in great light - and both of the night-shots are excellent. Very quiet the last couple of days because so many flights have been cancelled; a mass of red on the Arrivals/Departures listings.

Re: Aberdeen 1986

Was down at the airport yesterday, but over on the east side. A lot of prep work going on in the farmland visible in the background of the final photo, but not sure exactly what's going to go up or whether it's for a new section of road (or both). Looking at the subjects in the photos, not one of th...

Likely that the chap on the port-side fin and at the head of the images on the starboard-side fin is Marshal Jozef Pilsudski, the first statesman of Poland.

History lesson over!

Re: October up in Aberdeen

Nice selection, DD. Love the night-shots of the Falcons. What sort of time-exposures are you shooting on to get those results? One other question: do you know if the ground next to the new Gama Aviation hangar has been turned-over prep to construction work on the site? It would be a pity to lose the...

Re: Miami International 23-09-2017

Nice selection - that AirCal scheme brings back a lot of memories of 737s/MD80s/146s in those colours at SFO in the late '80s. If I get my act together and source a decent photo-scanner, I'll dig out the slides from that time and hopefully be able to post some shots during the dark winter months. Th...

VH-LEP and PH-KZI at ABN

A gloomy start weatherwise this morning, but spirits were brightened by the sight of Global Express VH-LEP, in from Dublin yesterday, and F100 PH-KZI, still flying the Fokker flag at KLM. https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4465/36896946693_3e60254784_b.jpg P1060681 by mustang 5861 , on Flickr https://fa...

Registered to Eastern Airways but with Bristow Helicopters colour scheme, I understand it's one of two to be used on the Aberdeen to Scatsta shuttle ... Yes, it's one of two -600s recently acquired by Eastern for work on the Aberdeen-Scatsta route as part of their tie-up with Bristow Helicopters an...

Re: (C)Old Warden -01-10-2017 - Race Day

Great shots of a nice variety of types - love the lines of the Spartan, and always good to see the Comet racer and Hurricane taking to the skies. Just thinking that the Extra 330 'fireworks display' would go down well as part of the Old Warden Flying Evenings, when the subdued light (assuming the we...
