Re: 747 at 50

I have to agree with Nighthawke (who beat me to Heathrow by 1 year), your shots are most interesting waghorn41. For example, in your posts above I have never seen that Thai livery before, I didn't realise the ground training Comet at Heathrow was painted up in a hybrid BOAC/BA colour scheme (it was ...

The bland new Aer Lingus livery won't be luring me anywhere! Great set of shots in lovely light though.

Re: Canon 50d

I think the 50D has quite an early implementation of auto ISO, and in M the ISO is fixed at ISO400 when auto ISO is selected. On later models the ISO would change automatically in M but there was no way to set exposure compensation, and then in the most recent models exposure compensation can be set...

Re: Canon 50d

They are excellent cameras. In fact all the "10 series" cameras are, with the exception of the 40D, which seems to have more than its fair share of shutter failures. You should find that the 50D handles a lot better than the 600D - it's a bit larger and therefore has room for a second LCD screen and...

Lovely first shot of the Weststar 767 Andy. Shame it didn't stay until next Saturday, but that was asking for too much really :)

Re: A few older slide scans

Wow, I really enjoyed scrolling through those. Highlights include the KAL 707, the 747 looking gorgeous in older Swissair colours, and the Monarch 720 at Luton with an Air Malta example behind, and a further 720/707 behind that (possibly Conair or Maersk I guess).

Love the first shot particularly. Just trying to get my bearings - Is that looking out towards where Terminal 2 or the maintenance area are now?

I can't quite believe that I photographed this Ryanair One-Eleven just over 30 years ago. I'm getting old. Shot from the excellent outside viewing area that Birmingham used to have. https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4868/45418115275_7317f05cf7_h.jpg Ryanair One-Eleven 525FT by Nick Challoner , on Flickr
