Re: Waitrose's suggestion for Father's Day

There should be a way to opt-out of these, I am in the same situation. Not as bad as the person from a water company who, when I reported his death and attempted to put the bill in my name (mum was in a care home), said they couldn't do anything without speaking to the account holder. I made a forma...

Re: Farnborough public weekend show axed

It has been going downhill for years, not just post-Shoreham. The last half-decent one I went to was 2010. I went in 2016 on the Friday, but it was poor (weather didn't help). Most of the companies had quit their stands, Boeing had gone (with their aircraft). Didn't bother with 2018 - nothing I was ...

Re: Heathrow viewing & photography locations

I used the 'mound' on Stanwell Moor yesterday:- On Easterlies, so 9L arrivals (and a couple on 9R which took me by surprise!) Mound on open grass land east of M25, junction 14 and north of A3113: this is an open area of raised ground with various footpaths on it (possibly surplus soil from the T.5 c...

Re: Heathrow viewing & photography locations

Thanks again Andy,

I'll probably give the Urban Farm a go, if I have to pay it is only £6.75 for entry (I'm a senior!)

Just want a couple of hours before going to Northolt for the night shoot.

Re: Heathrow viewing & photography locations

Is the Tesco Superstore an alternative and viable parking place? I suppose they have a limited time (and maybe a purchase requirement?). Any thoughts?? If I go to the Urban Farm, do I just pay for a ticket and park for free, or can I park for free without paying entry?? Don't mind a walk to get a bi...

Just checked the forecast, and wind is NNE @ 6 so might need to be 09L for arrivals..

Re: Heathrow viewing & photography locations

Is Myrtle Avenue still an OK place to park/watch/photograph?

Thinking of a trip next Thursday afternoon (should be on 27L arrivals after 15:00??)

TIA

Re: Canon EOS 80D offer from HDEW

Enjoy!

I've had my 80D for nearly 2 years, love it!

Got it with the stock 18-135 USM, got a 70-300 USM in May ready for RIAT. Great lenses.

AeroExpo at Booker

Is the AeroExpo any good??

Thinking of spending a day there, one aim is to practice panning prior to RIAT in July.

Can I get close enough to the runway? (70-300 lens on an 80D)

Thanks,

Mick
