Manchester - 1980's

Here's a few from Manchester in the 1980's - sorry but can't be more specific than that and quality isn't brilliant. Hope you like them. https://photos.smugmug.com/Aviation/Aviation-Archive/Manchester-Airport/i-CNkWQTB/0/6f4f96f2/O/Aeroflot%20Tu-134.jpg https://photos.smugmug.com/Aviation/Aviation-A...

Re: Super Guppy F-BTGV - Bruntingthorpe

Andy,

Thanks for the info - interesting. I'm never sure what to think when l go to Bruntingthorpe. I suppose the owners have found a good way of bringing in revenue but l do find the sea of stored vehicles rather depressing. The Cold War jets collection always looks a bit lost.

Super Guppy F-BTGV - Bruntingthorpe

I went to the Lightning photo call at Bruntingthorpe yesterday. The Lightning fast taxi runs took place at the southern end of Bruntingthorpes runway. I was pleased to find that the Super Guppy had been relocated to this spot and was no longer surrounded by the myriad cars that are in storage at the...

Manchester - 29th October 2018

Caught a few fiights landing on 05R yesterday before the sun came too far round. Nothing exciting but it was a pleasant morning and better than staying in the house. https://photos.smugmug.com/Aviation/Aviation-Civil/Manchester-2018/i-wbCPbTF/0/85d157b6/X2/6D_MIA29102018_5666_DxO-X2.jpg https://phot...

Re: SPOTM October 2018 - Oktoberfest, any German registered aircraft

Thought i'd throw this one in. The unusual VFW-614, the only one in the UK, based at Cotswold (Kemble) Airport. The VFW-614 Germany's post war attempt at a short haul commercial airliner. It failed, only 19 were built although some did see service with the German Air Force until 1999. Shot on the 29...

Cotswold Airport - Photocall 29th September 2018

A few from the threshold.aero night photocall on the 29th September. Not sure if the Canberra's are classed as military or civilian now even though they have a civilian registration so i've not included them here. Full set of photos from the night can be seen here --> https://photos.skypicservices.c...

Manchester - 22nd October 2018

My 1st visit to Manchester's Southside for a number of years. Started on the mound then over to the other end at 05R for some take off photos. Nothing very exotic I'm afraid: the Thomas Cook 'Gay Pride' A330 was nice to see (1st time I've seen it) and l think l got a reasonably good photo of the Emi...

Another one from the 1980s - typical Manchester scene from that period. Not quite sure which 757 this one is.

Manchester - 2007

I haven't posted here in a very, very long time. I'd like to rectify that now I have a bit more time on my hands. Thought I'd start with some oldies from Manchester 2007. Reprocessed most of them to 16:9. Concentrated (mostly) on airlines/liveries that you no longer see. Hope they are of interest. Ch...

Re: Gatwick 1977/8

Four Dan-Air Comets in one photo - fantastic.

Without much tweaking you could make those scans look even better - a bit of colour correction, noise reduction and a bit of selective sharpening would work wonders.

Re: Old Photos (pic heavy)

Not entirely sure - I know I was still at school so it must have been about 1975/76 ish - I remember we used the school minibus and did an East Midlands tour. Sadly many of the transparencies I have from then are beyond recovery. Thats what I get for neglecting them for 30 years. :grr:
