Re: Heathrow viewing & photography locations

Fair enough - just trying to tie it down a bit and it popped up in Google Maps. Must be somewhere around there.

Re: Heathrow viewing & photography locations

Search in Google Maps for "Spotting Point, Southern Perimeter Road, Longford, Hounslow" (that's the full title") It looks like this is it - only seemed to appear on satellite view and you might have to zoom in/out for the words to appear. No idea on access as 1) not familiar with area and 2) no stre...

Re: SPOTM January 2021, aircraft photographed in 2020

One from my garden caught on finals to RAF Lakenheath on 2nd November 2020 - Boeing 767 N225AX of Omni Air International. I know, I should have saved it for the March 767 comp but I have other 767 shots but very few 2020 ones! https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/50560927991_d912c751ea_b.jpg N225AX_2...

Re: Telephoto lens for Nikon D5500

Hi James - first off I am not an expert and usually reluctant to advise - plus I shoot Canon and not familiar with Nikon products. Having said that I and from your post, I would think you are looking for 500mm or 600mm top end (you said 300 was often not enough). I have recently obtained a Sigma 150...

Re: HS-125 in Heathrow 1995 - Photo

N369G is probably the one:

https://abpic.co.uk/pictures/registration/N369G

I have checked PlaneBase histories of all N36* 125S (almost certainly a 6 not an 8). N369G is the only one for that timeframe except for N360X but the images I can find do not match the colour scheme.

Re: Merry Xmas 2020

All the best to everyone and a special thanks to Andy and Mike for keeping things calm and a "civil-ised" forum. Never a cross word or moans. So whatever you do I hope you all get some enjoyment and that Santa brings you something nice.

Kind regards and best wishes,
Ian

You certainly are spoiling us - and please carry on as I am loving these. Nostalgic shots are alway welcome regardless of image quality, but these are of modern-day quality. Thanks from me too. Eagerly anticipating more...please!

Re: Who could have ever thought .....

It almost seems strange to see images of people enjoying themselves in what was the usual way. Two of those locations are quite relevant as my wife and I were due to go to Venice for her birthday and then Austria as part of a grand European road-trip. This was to mark our Silver Wedding last year bu...

Re: SPOTM 2021 calendar

Another great selction of subjects - thanks team!

With regards to January's comp, does the photograph have to have been entered in the 2020 comps or can it be a "first-timer" entry, if that makes sense?

Thanks
Ian
