Re: Old Buckenham airshow 31-07-2021

Great selection Andy. I'm not normally one for cloning out offending objects from photos, but the lovely sepia shot of the Hurricane is crying out to have the no people sign bottom-left removed! it is annoying, I tried cropping higher but it didn't look right and I don't like spending time removing...

I can only see one extra that was outside and that is an Extra G-XXTR :D That, G-EXIL, it's baby brother and something else that I've forgotten were moved into the first 2 hangars about 1/2 hour after the show ended and whilst the doors of those 2 hangars were open I noted the following: G-ADUR Horn...

Re: July 2021 photo of the month competition

Hmmmm! I was going to go with a pic of the Comet but Mark beat me to it so in the interests of variety I'll go with something different from another airshow that I visited in July instead, this is from the Duxford summer show (Saturday 24th) and 2 of the four blades dare I say crossing swords? https...

Re: LOG : Old Buckenham Airshow : 31st July 2021

I will see what else I have on my pics but I think you have nearly everything. did manage to see in two of the hangars in the evening when they opened them to put aircraft away.. Was quite a good show when ...

Re: Duxford summer show 24-07-2021

thanks Ian, I was quite lucky with that location and it was easy parking, worst part was that I had to drive past Duxford to get home and they were holding the A505 traffic to let the show traffic out :( As for my location, if you look at the ordnance survey map at Thriplow, about a mile north west ...

Re: SPOTM July 2021 - aircraft based on a former Soviet bloc design

@andygolfer I refer to the date of closure for entries as per point 4 of the Rules, see below; should it read 7th August? "The competition will remain open until 23.59 (UK time) on the 7th July 2021 ... " excellent - at least we have one person reading the rules , many thanks!!! So that's only 3 el...

Re: Shuttleworth evening show 17-07-2021

thanks for the comments guys, the light got really good into the evening. To start with it was a bit harsh and a bit too bright - I was trying to keep the speed down to around 1/250-400th for prop blur and aperture F7.1 (around the sweet spot for the lens) but even at ISO 100 I couldn't get it down ...

City of Norwich Aviation Museum 10-07-2021

during my break in Norfolk I visited the Norwich museum which has a wide variety of preserved aircraft. Many are military so I won't post them here but here are some of the civilian exhibits. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51310034104_93bdfcaf82_h.jpg G-BHMY Fokker F.27 Air UK, City of Norwich ...

Shuttleworth evening show 17-07-2021

This was my first evening show this year and cloudless skies meant lovely evening light as the show progressed finishing with the Edwardians doing their piece as dusk descended. An excellent show once again with the drive-in format still in use. One or two not following the rules but generally well ...

Re: SPOTM July 2021 - aircraft based on a former Soviet bloc design

As the Olympics are about to start here's an (almost) appropriate one from me, this was taken at Stansted on August 2nd 2012 this IL.62 was one of 3 that brought Russian dignitaries (how times change) and athletes to the London Olympics, it and another departed on an exceptional evening at Stansted ...

Old Warden evening show 17-07-2021 Beagle Pup G-AVDF

I was at the evening show yesterday and there was a gathering of LAA aircraft at the event with full walk round access during the afternoon, a highlight for me was the Beagle Pup prototype beautifully restored - what a job they have done with it. I'm not sure if anyone else on here is a fan (if they...
