nice ones Denis, and perfect timing too.

hope you're near a flight path to get your fix during the lockdown, it's painfully slow when there's nothing about

N612UP departing Stansted 07-04-2020 (over Rayne)

the wind has moved round so Stansted are on runway 04 this morning and the sun is out too. All I needed was an aircraft to oblige and the UPS 747 to Hong Kong duly obliged, just south of me at 4000ft. I was worried my camera shutter might be stuck through lack of use but all worked perfectly..... ht...

Re: Stansted 31st May 1987

Well one of my Air Britain colleagues saw this and provided the answers before I even asked:

5Y-BFB is the jamboree or whatever (the green one) it later became D2-TOU

and the unmarked Angolan is 5Y-BFC became D2-TOV

both both first noted on 22nd March 1987

thanks to Nigel Kemp for the info

A second aircraft EI-NEO has now also arrived too!!
according the the Stansted google group, that one is only in until 18.00 this evening so it may be visible over the south east departing. They are using runway 22 today if that helps.

very nice Pete, that brings back memories - I was over there most Sundays to see the weekly Scandinavian charters. I was often working in the Stansted Aviation Society shop in the viewing enclosure (for those who have never heard that expression it's a designated area, usually with some facilities, ...

Re: NEOS B787 31-3-20

Pete - the Stansted google group ( https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/stnae ) reported that it will be in for 5 days so unlikely to be re-pat. 2 (I think) others have been in recently-ish for some sort of modification work which took about 5 days per aircraft so I would expect it's the same rea...

I've just done mine and was about to post a reminder when I saw you were (at least) one step ahead of me Mike!

In the box under the time zone it tried to drop me in Algeria but I turned down the offer, i'd rather risk the virus here thanks.

one of the problems is that shop staff are too scared to confront these morons (and probably wisely), they don't get paid enough to put their safety on the line like that. society is in a bad state these days

Re: RIAT cancelled

I shall be surprised if there are any airshows before September tbh. If organisers get the all clear in early July it will still take a while to set up even a small show, I expect some will continue to plan in the hope that they get an all clear sometime in the summer but will go on hold at the poin...
