Canary country circular tour 19-04-2019, final stage - Priory Farm, Tibenham

our last stop of the day. Priory Farm is about a mile to the west of Tibenham airfield about 43 miles west of the A140. Bob was expecting us and spent an hour or so showing us round all the hangars and workshop and a wide variety of aircraft - brilliant! Some were packed in a bit tight so I couldn't...

Canary country circular tour 19-04-2019, stage 5 - Tibenham

last stop but one for us (we had intended calling at Old Buckenham first but we were running late for our appointment at Priory Farm and I hadn't had a reply from Old Buck either so we gave it a miss). What gliding had been going on had ended for the day - probably not much good for gliding with a t...

Canary country circular tour 19-04-2019, stage 4 - Felthorpe

the start of our return leg to Essex and a stop at Felthorpe a few miles north west of Norwich. Time was getting on and nearly everybody had left for the day but a kind gentleman opened up the hangars for us so we had a briefish walk round and took a few pics and found quite a variety of types..... ...

Canary country circular tour 19-04-2019, stage 3 - Northrepps

I knew I should have turned the sat-nav voice on when I left Norwich but I was trying to follow the football  ! missed a turning somewhere round Aylsham and ended up half way to Holt! Finally arrived at Northrepps and met up with Mike Burdett who showed us round the hangars and took us out onto...

Canary country circular tour 19-04-2019, 2nd stage - Norwich

so a briefish drive from Seething for our rendezvous with Mark (AirbusA320) for a run round Norwich starting with the storage area. I said briefish journey and a word of warning - if your sat-nav isn't up to date it won't show the new northern bypass and you will end up lost - we did. Sat navs don't...

Canary country circular tour 19-04-2019, first stop Seething

on Friday myself and a friend went on a day's circular tour of Canary country - East Norfolk which took in Norwich itself and 5 other airfields. Some were quite quiet considering the weather and it being a bank holiday but we saw all sorts of aircraft. A bit of effort beforehand contacting the airfi...

Re: Premier Inn, Bath Road

Fingers crossed they are not using 09s as they have been this week, and due to be next week too. that is the big risk but I don't want to leave it until the last minute to book. It would just mean staying out on the 09L approach until I've had enough for the evening or go to Feltham for some ...

Many thanks Neil, sounds good apart from the windows but with the opportunity to be outside anyway I am planning on that basis. hopefully the switch to one runway is at 7am as they are on 27L in the morning on 19th. I shall be leaving LHR around 9.00 -9.30 to go to Ascot for the Ladies Day helicopte...

Re: Premier Inn, Bath Road

Just take a wander down the Eastern Perimeter Road towards the BA Engineering base and you should get some good shots. :thumb: many thanks, it's not too far and the runways are only about 1500m apart so around 800m distant to the landers on both if I go mid way. I'll have to do a few morning play b...
