The change to the remote ANPR system is going live on Sunday 30th November with associated works from Friday 28th.
I just happen to be using the crossing that weekend so have registered for their updates and received this link by e-mail today, thought it might be useful to anyone else travelling on the eastern M25 that weekend who doesn't get the updates.

at least it will get rid of the bottleneck at the booths when traffic is heavy

Re: Dartford crossing works w/e 28-11-14
We were promised that it would be free to cross once the bridge had been paid for. Now we are told that once it had been paid for, the charge became a congestion charge - and what causes the congestion - why the payment booths of course. That's politicians for you!

Thanks for the info Andy- created a bit of a monster have the powers to be with the Dartford Crossing- just glad I don't have to use it on a daily basis.
We are getting another Mersey Crossing up here in Runcorn- was some talk about charging residents to cross- but have since relented and we have free crossing's- when its built.
Happy Days
