A couple of weeks ago, it was the 22nd anniversary of the closure of Pan American World Airways (source: http://www.aircharterservice.com/blog/t ... s-downfall) and while I never got the chance to ever fly with them, I still recognise how much of a powerhouse they were in the aviation industry, especially at their peak.
I'd have loved to experience them during the 70s, when they were at the front of the airline industry, which brings me to my next question: Did anyone on this forum ever fly with Pan American? If so, what was your experience of it? And do you wish they were still around?
Did you know that registration to Civilian Aviation is completely free and brings you lots of added features? Find out more....
Does anyone remember Pan American?
Re: Does anyone remember Pan American?
PanAm (version 6) still exist.
Re: Does anyone remember Pan American?
I've never flown with them but I remember seeing their DC-8s, 707s, 727s & 747s at Heathrow and other exotic places.
Re: Does anyone remember Pan American?
Certainly do remember them initially with the 8's and 707's and 727's at LAP then the lumps.
