LOG: Derby (Egginton) 28/01

Post by Martin » Sat Jan 28, 2012 6:31 pm

Having not been for a while, I made a visit this afternoon to Derby (Egginton) Airfield to pick up a couple of newish residents. This airfield is located a couple of miles to the West of the A50/A38 junction, alongside the A5132.

After asking in the reception Portacabin, a full guided tour of the airfield and hangars was given with the following logged

G-ALTO Ce140
G-ARAX Pa22
G-ARFB Pa22
G-ARWS Ce175
G-ASMS Ce150
G-ASOK Ce172
G-AVDV Pa22
G-AVGA Pa24
G-AVLM Pup (unmarked fugelage in maintenance hangar)
G-AXIE Pup
G-AXJI Pup
G-AXJJ Pup
G-AXPN Pup
G-AXSC Pup
G-AYPH Ce177
G-AZCN Pup
G-AZTF Ce177
G-BAFW Pa28
G-BAJO AA5 (visiting from Welshpool)
G-BAKW Pup
G-BBJY Ce172
G-BETE Beta
G-BHAV Ce152
G-BHZS Bulldog
G-BITH Ce152
G-BJXZ Ce172
G-BKEV Ce172
G-BNHK Ce152
G-BNKE Ce172
G-BNMC Ce152 (dismantled in maintenance hangar)
G-BOPH Ce182
G-BPHP Taylorcraft
G-BPTS Casa1131 (painted as Spanish AF E3B-153)
G-BRND Ce152
G-BSUD Luscombe
G-BYBD Ce172
G-CBCR Bulldog (painted as RAF XX702)
G-CEKI Ce172
G-CFCI Ce172
G-CFWO Maverick
G-CGJT SportsCruiser
G-CSMK Ev97
G-DACF Ce152
G-FIJJ Ce177
G-GBXS Europa
G-GBFR Ce177
G-IIFM Edge360
G-JKKK Ce172
G-JVJK AP300
G-KWAX Ce182 (fugelage only in maintenance hangar)
G-ODAC Ce152
G-OSFS Ce177
G-TRAX Ce172

The fugelages of Pa22 D-EGEU and TB10 G-OFLG are dumped next to the main hangar. The Luscombe fuselage that was here appears to have gone.
There was also a bare Metal Ce152 fuselage against the wall in the main hangar, possibly ex G-BNMD?
Between the two hangars is the fuselage of Ce182 G-ASSF and what's left of the fuselages of Ce152's G-BRWC and G-SACF

In the Comet Workshop is the fuselage of DH88 G-ACSP which is on a very long term rebuild! Also in this building is an unfinished Rv3 c/n PFA 099-12862
