Popham M/L 2018

Post by LondonEye » Tue May 08, 2018 7:06 pm

There is already a very good report by Neil (Cessna 954).
Blue sky, a very good turn out, especially for gyros and flexwings.
Nothing jumped out as really special, but as Neil said - it's nice to get out, up close and see the modern GA types. And - Popham lets you wander.
So, trying to be different, I thought I would go through showing types that are common now, compared to the old days of Piper, Cessna, Jodel etc.
Hope you find it of interest.
Pete.

Finally, some types that test my ID.

Raj Hamsa X-Air do two models - first the Falcon

ImageRaj Hamsa X-Air G-CCDJ 1 Popham

then the Raj Hamsa X-Air Hawk - obviously different to the Falcon. With a quick glance, could you mistake it for a Best Off ?

But then look at Rans - the S-6 variants being the most common. Could you mistake it for an X-Air Hawk ?

And finally, what about the ICP MXP-740 Savannah ?

Yes, closer inspection will see the differences.
But, I am not too proud to say that when I first started, I confused B727 with Tridents, BAC111 with DC9, VC10 with IL62 etc.
It's part of what makes this hobby so interesting.

If you have made it this far, thank you for looking.
Pete.
